Knights-172. Your choice, but recommend Ju-88s. First target beachheads 168/165. Focus on hard targets, if you can close on your own even better. Secondary Targets 162/168 if things go well. After that remain flexible to move East and attack Beach heads there. Opportunity may exist for anti shipping runs with torpedos. Keep in mind you may rebase and refuel anywhere after the first sortie. I'm not entirely sure on the Ju-88s capability from landing grounds so please look into operating from those as there are many fields in close proximity of targets.

LF 6-167. Your choice, but 109 offers greatest flexibility in firepower. First sortie support destruction of Beach head 165/168. Focus on light targets like static ships and ground vehicles. If you are able to close on your own do so, but also consider mopping up after Ju-88s if need be. Depending on the frame progress be prepared for A2A operations. Remember, flexibility is key and plenty of fields are in reach for rearm/refuel.

352-Your pick 124/130/136. 132 offers 1 step as an "advanced force". Your choice, but 109 offers greatest flexibility in firepower. First sortie head south for destruction of 187/185. Focus on light targets like static ships and ground vehicles. If you are able to close on your own do so but there are a lot of light targets down the East coast to "soften up" the beachheads for later frame ops. Depending on the frame progress be prepared for A2A operations. Remember, flexibility is key and plenty of fields are in reach for rearm/refuel.

Good plan.

Beachheads are not that hard to close once you take out the ships but you can just take out the ships for good points too. Finding the small tanks and arty landed at the beachheads may be difficult and they have AAA to cover them.
Expect to see lots of offshore AI ships moving and static to cover the invasion and land more troops.

So what about we have a mixed bag of 190s and 88 and hit the ships. 88 can carry 2 tops and the 190s bomb and strafe.

Against the static ships both planes will work well...I suggest the 190s carry the Wgr21 rox. Prevents your guys from hitting a mast.... :lol:

Guns will also work on the STATIC ships ONLY... if you get the chance to hit a convoy I'd use the rox again or the 8x50 load....remember ships only need be damaged to count as a kill....convoy ships are "AI" not static and CANNOT be strafed down...

190s will be better going after convoys as they can egress at will...if the 88s get jumped near a convoy they can't get away...so their strike will need to be coordinated before they come in...maybe have the 190s scout the convoys...and then call in the 88s while the LW fighters come support??

Mad and I are still available for jabo duty if you want us

Thank you Jman. Here is my question and I a running on a few hours of sleep. Are we doing a torp mission or a bomb mission on hard targets? I need to know so I can create target maps.

Bombing mission Hawk, at least initially. The 88s are good for area damage and pinpoint hitting unlike the 190s. Tanks, aa, are tough for fighters and static ships can be hit with bombs/torps.

AA are not required but will make lives easier if dead. Generally speaking the beach heads are laid out relatively the same. A line of vehicles from tents flanked by 20mm. Static transports just off the coast and at least 2 DD (capital object) on the edge. The static DDs are required for closure so we will need bombs/torps on those if we want the 6 points for the beach head. It may take a couple trips to close a beach head so we may have to settle for hitting everything we can in the initial sorties and come back for points finishing later.

Really what we need torps for are moving ships. Everything else is bombable/strafable.
