Beaver,

We could have up to 12 if they all show up.

If you get all 12, you could grab the Nomads and get all the ships at F14 yourselves. :)

I guess we will play it by ear. ;)

Ground object means ships as well.

Remember in Frame 1 you will not have as much AAA to worry about. Frame 2 it gets harder.

The difficult part of Frame 1 is not the initial attack but the second or third sortie you make. Only bring in your Vals and Kates when the enemy is well and truely CAPPED by the higher flying zekes.
If the US fields are well CAPPED then they can always launch from their CVs in F4F3s. But that is only on the initial launch if they land a capped field later they must take off from there. No teleporting once you have done your initial game launch.

For points you can check out the summary on the main page. Generally you want to sink all those static warships which represent US Battleships for good points.

Good Luck

United Mud Movers - your task is to clear the ack from 14 & 15. Once you hit the ACK, the Yankees can release so we want the Torpedo planes right on your heels.

~S~ Sir. UMM will do what is asked but based on latest comments from jabo it seems ACK is not a huge issue frame 1.

Consider layout of ships F14..

They are very close to the coastline and pretty hard to Torp. IMHO. Also with the best of CAP they will still be able to scramble out of 11, 12 possibly 16 and even 14 and catch us low and slow once the first target is hit, because our RTB route is well known we must go back to the CV which will be at 0,9,1 when we RTB sortie 1 (approx. T+72).

Hence the best option seems to be to hit them ships with 800kb bombs from a good alt. hopefully 10K+ and then head back home. All the strikes can be put to this duty and the 15 ships can be taken down with precision bombing and a little help from our AI friends (line abreast at 100 feet at the right angle should put 2x 800s on em) got to figure this angle out. some boats are slightly off and one has to hit em perpendicular to sink em.

Also Jabo mentions points in taking out fuel helps.. there's 8 of em at 15. South West, impossible to miss. The heavy fighters could drop on these again from great alt. They go down pretty easy..

Other details the Kate cruises 228mph or 364 kmph. max. Average speed should be 200mph or 320kmph. We are looking at a 240 mile or 384 km round trip or 72 minutes first sortie. (a tad less due to the shorter distance home, but a 15mph boat is not much help).

I'll work out exact time hacks once the plan is confirmed.

Bomber Numbers
This is the number of bombers I am calculating on, if we have more, we can attack some other targets. Please confirm your numbers:
Nomads - 1, UMM - 4, NS - 4, Knights - 7, 127 - 2 or 3.

Any suggestions are of course appreciated.

.

Nomads = 2--I'm still a card carrying Nomad :D I (DR-AG-8) plan to fly Sunday and will be flying with the Knights- so you can add 1 bomber to their count- . I don't speak for Sir Gums nor does he speak for me at this point.
Sry for late input ,but I've been out of town all week.

I like the torpedoes the first frame. They work great.

Careful approach from the west/north/north-east is good. Ack is a bear on the South and South-East side.

We could do torpedoes 1st strike then level bomb 2nd strike.

Part of the rules read:

[quote basic Rules

Initial Format - changes after in bold italics.

1. Start Times - each frame uses the following schedule;

T+0 - Flight enabled for IJN. Frame 1 and Frame 3 USN must stay on ground until a ground object is destroyed.][/quote]

Why should we hit any ground target until we have put ever ship on the bottom--even if it means a second sortie. If by chance we take them all down the 1st run, then again hold until everyone lands and can reup with bombs.

Just a thought.

Jabo clarified in another post that Ships also count as ground objects.
