Bombers should check out the arena, it has the cloud cover enabled and this will help you decide on your approach to target.

Loo,

What about moving 352nd closer to the front lines? F181 is a Med 3 step field, and it lies just over 20 miles from the nearest enemy base. 60 miles from the nearest large field where you know the hvy's will be rolling from. It only makes sense that they will try to deprive us of this large/med field right out of the gate. It is the only field in the North where we can launch bombers from Its critical we keep it intact! What ya think?

Good points epic, but be aware in this series medium fields are for twin engine aircraft only.

Epic,

Belive me, I wanted the north fighters on the front ASAP but I am restricted to grass fields for baseing. There is no way I can get you guys closer. I wish I could use that medium field.

Just for consideration, 184, 263, 182 are small fields but close to the front. In proximity to F4 and 190 in case of Russian North schenanigans. Fairly spread apart though.

Is 207 a landing strip or grass field? Hard to tell in that color scheme. Big difference in stepping.

Simple plane restrictions-

Single Engine (109s)- Any field but Medium
Twin Engine (110s/88s)- only Medium and Large

"352nd FG - Fields 234 and 195, Primary Jabo: Radar 242, Secondary: Field 280. Denial of Reds from East. Patrol Grid 7,4 and 7,3."

IF every one of our fighters carried bombs and IF every one of them impacted on a target, we could not close Radar 242. (Too much stuff) IMHO it requires a strike squad of some type to do that. IF we are tasked with taking out that installation we will have to be running back and forth there the whole Frame and could not perform the requested "Denial of Reds" part. If we got to pick, it would be the "denial of reds" part. Pick one of the two, please. Frankly, the Bf 109G is not really an adept "ground attack" airplane.

Field guns of all types are not "required", but if strafing of any target is required, the guns gotta go.

Happy trails...

Dewolf,

I understand your concern. I did take out all the ack in 2 sorties on a test run. Like I said, pick away at it. Returning fighters can empty rounds into the radar station, outgoing fighters can drop on it and continue Red denial. I am certain the 352 with its superior airmanship can level that station in a frame's time. Not all at once sir, not all at once.

Just a tidbit of info that I stumbled upon in the series rules:

"6. Secondary A/C Damage - the S3 secondary damage makes all aircraft more fragile in the tail sections but this will be most noticeable in bombers with an increased likelihood of loosing their stabs. Bomber otto has been increased to deter rear 6 attacks. Flying in tight bomber formations is still the best defense."

Weaken the tail but increase Otto weenies, but fighters will be a 1 ping death per norm :-/

bufftuff is set at 2.0 and otto is decent on straight 6 attacks but not so great otherwise so lone bombers should be easy meat, even B25s. Hard maneuvering IL2s and stukas will be tough to down but you should be able to shoot their control surfaces off.
Same otto settings we saw in the last series but bufftuff is much less.

looboy.

Field 8 is a medium field correct? If so the only aircraft according to the rules we can take is a multi engine. Where do our fighters up from?

Thanks and the plan looks great!
