My perception from frame 1 was that I was always in a vulnerable position. Low/slow/climbing etc... My hope for frame 2 is to try to have people in a position to overcome the difficulties we have here.

Radar everywhere .. didn't realize that 1940s had SO many radar sets everywhere in the world.

I would like to have targets available across the front... units will either loiter south or go in NOE to areas where the enemy is not in overwhelming numbers. This will mean that bombers will most likely be coming in up the middle, or off to one side to draw fighters away. I want the buffs to have smaller targets as that port complex north east is tough for even heavy bombers.

squads may be rotating striking and flying cover in the same sortie.

I will probably try to GCI and hope to be up to the task.
Each squad will be free to choose their airframe mix to best suit their purpose.
(including taking B25d instead of a fighter)

Targets and more info to come, and as always all thoughts and ideas are welcome.

some useful info from Muzz:
Quote:
All bridges are associated with either a Marshaling Yard (MY) or a Supply Depot (SD). Some bridges have ack near them, also associated with the parent MY/SD.

Field #, Province name, bridges
Inside Allied lines
F175 SD Ragusa: 4 bridges
F190 MY: Siracusa: 5 bridges: two on the axis side near F143, don't waste ammo/bombs on them! Bridge west 143 has a friendly 40mm
F117 MY: Enna: 4 bridges
F129 MY: Catania: 5 bridges

Inside Axis Lines
F100 MY Agrigento: 5 bridges, one of which is inside allied controlled territory at the start of the frame (near F161).
F107 MY Caltanissetta: 3 bridges, all relatively close to to F107
F20 MY Eastern Messina: 7 bridges
F63 MY Western Messina: 5 bridges
F60 MY Eastern Palermo: 4 bridges
F53 SD Western Trapani: 4 bridges
F40 SD Eastern Trepani: 4 bridges
F56 SD: Western Palermo: 5 bridges

1,000 lbrs need some alt or they don't explode.

It might be an idea to close F99, then the Axis nave a much longer flight to the front lines. ;)
Could be a good bomber target :)

Please refer to .show and scroll down to ot list for a list of targets that are need for a base closure
how to read..example
ot_house 1 0 1 = required
ot_house 0 0 1 = not required
Go offline and cmeye around for field intel and write down all the targets that are at a field, compare to the ot list and you will have list of targets along with their position.
If needed a list of point values for bombs and point values for targets are around somewhere, or have been posted in the past.....can post em again if needed

my $.02 on bombs is ...

since they have neutered low level strike 1000lb bombs with ridiculous rules about dfuse and troops adjusting their bombs .. much like the governors on A1 tanks.... first thing the troops remove.

anyway... an accurate 500 lb bomb is much better than a miss with a 1000 lb bomb.
I would take dfused 500lb bombs when needing to kill targets. with only 2 guns we should be able to strafe them down no problem.... :)

Caution, there are several fields with AA close to F99.

F98 is an example.

F098G0001
F098G0002
F098G0003
F098G0004
F098G0005
F098G0006
F098G0007
F098G0008
F098G3001
F098G3002

F100 has 12 88mm AA object spread over a wide area

F97 has 1 40mm AA and 1 20mm AA

That's interesting since my photo recon of 98 shows only 5 88s. So how do we find the rest????

Did some runs on 98 in the S3 until I lost my last life (Reset maybe - hint, hint) anyway, was able to climb to 4-6k from NOE and bombed without dfuse and had no issues. As I approached from the south I noted 3 target boxes that did not jive with my photo recon. They turned out to be guns so sent in AIs which took them out. But AIs used all bombs on their first strike so were not available for subsequent strikes on that sortie. I know there's a command that directs AI to bomb certain targets but forget what it is.

Use .destroyob F098G0001 (2, 3, 4, ....) and watch for the smoke plume. Some site the objects are all over the place like the F100 bridges, 12 spans.

Note, F100B0010 bridge span icon is below grade. Not sure if a bomb will take it out.
