When I turn the radar on and off in the PDF of the map it looks like it is a 10 mile reach from the center of the circle if the grids are 20 miles. I would think if the dar can reach 20 miles. It should be 20 miles from the center of the circle.

Please let me know how I am seeing this wrong.

Your latter description is how it should be. I had a similar confusion when I CO'd the first time in BoH. Unless the rules say different radar range is the radius. So a 20mi Dar should have a 40mi diameter.

•Radar – 20 mile radius, coloured dots, inflight arrow. Minimum alt is 150 ft.

So does this mean the PDF is wrong? I don't doubt what the rule says and I am not doubting what the PDF says.

A circle with a 20 mile radius should have a 40 mile diameter like Zinhwk stated. If the circle in the PDF is right, then the radar is a 10 mile radius.

Just looking for clarification so I can look for dar holes.

Doc:
Congrats for such a thorough review of all the available documents! Either the Rules are "wrong" or the PDF graphic representation is. What is "interesting" is how it works. The ranges that are shown in the PDF are what we see, radar wise, while playing the game. With a "proper" 40 mile radar diameter, there would not have been the "holes" in radar coverage that were experienced during Frame 4. "Best Guess" is that what is shown on the PDF is what we get.

Doc I'll have a dtf for you with available Dar coverage. In my short experience the circles have been spot on in the in game map

Doc, attached is the DTF file.

As you can see, closing F19 did diddly, and F200 will be a problem child for us. I should also note that I did an exhaustive search, radar is pretty much only located within the vicinity of the fields. I even reconned the "Coastal Dar" and unless it is some form of donkey dar, it doesn't exist as noted. To answer your question Doc, the PDF is inaccurate at best:
