Dawger,

I reported this problem with the AI during frame 1 and nothing was done about it. Now you know about the weak wings, they need to fix it. I know not sure what you meant about being part of the solution. I don't have anything to do with the code and have no knowledge on how to fix it. I just fly them and report the problems per the statements on this forum.

Swede we took off from SP2 which faces us to the ocean. The spawn point unfortunately doesn't and have to taxi to it.

The wings arent weak,(well maybe a little) the elevator just works like its supposed to now.

By participation, I mean we need bomber guys willing to test and report in a formal setting, not expect a chat buffer complaint to get a result.

No skills needed. Just fly and report.

But you also have to be willing to accept that sometimes what you think is wrong actually isn't.

The B25 structural limits as currently coded are pretty close to real world numbers.

The transports have a 40mm gun. They will be the only non warship to fire at you. I put in a couple routines to test the prroblems with flying into masts, same with the boats. Normally I dont use any of those because they are incredibly hard to destroy with torps or bombs. I did change the Japanese DDs to American DDs in several of the routines and that made the AAA especially vicious. American DDs are much more deadly than Japanese ones with their AAA defence. I increased the value for mobile ships because they are so hard to attack with lag and AAA.

I saw lots of good skip bombing attacks and rockets used on the freighters but again their were many pull up and explode episodes. So far I have not seen anyone explode over a boat or heard reports of one, maybe because it is a much small hit box area and lag isnt as bad?

Prove to me where I am wrong! You want a video to show you where this is happening.. I don't get you guys. You say report the problems and when you do, you say this or make an excuse it's the pilot because you god manuals say it's correct.

The S3 isn't suppose to be a testing ground for maps or planes. Some just fly the S3 because of all the BS in the MA. You're not making friends here and keeping people in the game.

I reported it so it's up to you to look into and fix it if possible.

Since this gets back to my original post,,,,,,,,

This should have been stated before the frame. We should have been told that the transports are DD's. This is the 1st frame I saw ships shooting back at me.

The 40mm gun is BS. On land they are bad but we can drop on them from afar and kill them. On a ship their accuracy is much higher for some reason and there is no fricking way to take them out.

Sorry, but this really pissed me off Sunday. I thought the tracers looked like 40mm but just couldn't believe it.

(4) B25's killed by 2 transports, seriously.

Actually Hawk, some gun camera would go a long way towards at least understanding the problems.
Gun camera footage has been asked for but never given.
Gun camera is a more impartial way to judge what’s happening.
Please provide some gun camera footage.
As for the B-25 tearing off wings, according to the data gathered by the FMT, they break under certain loads and that’s what’s happening.
The need to practice with all the new FMs is very important.
We are all going to have to get away from what we think we know about the planes we’ve been flying over the last 10 years and start from scratch.
I’m nowhere near as good as Dawger at explaining what’s happening when you pull off your wings but I’ll try and hopefully Dawger will have time to correct me.
The new FMs allow for much more control and deflection on all the new FMs.
Basically, you pull to hard, too fast and suddenly you go from 1G to 4G without even realizing you did it.
At that point somethings gotta give and it’s your wings that suffer structural integrity fail (what I like to call cat-astrophic failure)
Everyone should try and spend as much time in the new FMs especially if they are using them in an S3.

What have you reported that’s wrong? I missed it? Are you saying that pulling that many Gs in a heavy B-25 shouldn’t break something?
What does a “god” have to do with it?

Sadly Hawk there are few points here that you are going to have to understand.

1. In order for IEN to add new planes to the game the volunteers had to relearn (no manuals) very complicated software.
If you add a new plane and do it by the numbers that one aircraft does not match all the legacy FMs.
It’s very much apples, oranges and pears.
So, to add one new plane, all the legacy FMs have to be reviewed.

2. The FMT works very hard to go through data collection, transcribing and figuring out how the flight models work. Now they have to be tested.
There are over 200 planes and only a couple of volunteer testers.
The models are released into the Mainstream and the players don’t like it/fight over it.

4. Players make spurious reports to demean or make work for the FMT. Players refuse to cite sources, fill out data sheets or provide reports that give detailed accounts.

5. The discovery that that many players actually practice in their S3 rides meant that the new FM would be tested a lot and reviewed.
It seemed like the only way the new FMs would be vetted.

In conclusion Hawk, we are all testers now and the more you wring out the new FMs the faster this process can go until it reaches its conclusion.
If you don’t want to add new planes to the game please make a post about it about in the S3 forum as well as the IEN boards.
I’m sure they’ll be happy to remove all the planes added since Target left and return al the FMs to what they were. I’m not being facetious I’m serious.

how can you become a tester? I may not be able to compare to what the real world planes where but I could help find things that seem odd.

How to break your wings off in a plane.

In the real world, any structure has a breaking point.

A wooden bow is the best example of an airplane wing. If you shoot a normal length arrow, the bow will bend and return to its original shape.

The arrow represents the design load of the wing.

Try to fire an arrow twice as long and the bow will crack in half.

The B-25 has a design load of 2.67 tines its weight at 34,000 lbs. That is its normal arrow.

Before the new FM you could not really exceed this due to limited deflection of the elevator. The FM developers made a decision to artificially limit the control movement.

In a real airplane very little control movement in the cockpit is required for normal flight, especially for elevator control. An inch forward or back will do all you need except for takeoff, landing or aerobatics.

On a joystick, an inch equates to violent maneuver. Pulling the joystick all the way back is the real world equivalent of a grown man yanking with all of his adrenaline fueled strength on the control.

The B-25 is snapping wings because it now has control authority that more closely resembles the real world and we got used to about half of that.

Anything above 2.67 G nay cause the B-25 to break. 4 G's almost certainly will.

Is this increased realism the right way to go? Maybe not.

This game may be past that era.

if you can make the feel of moving the joystick the same as yanking back with all my might then it might be ok.

But pulling back (no force feedback) and snapping off your wings with no warning and taking as much effort as yawning is not a good result. I don't know what a good answer is, just talkin.
Been flying that plane forever... now it's different. hard to change all those years of training without some type of warning/reminder

how about..... a calm pleasant (hawt) female voice "too hard baby" might be a start .. ??? :)
