#43 - Five Carrier Battles - PTO 1942
The spring, summer and fall of 1942 saw five important carrier battles between the US and Japan. Both sides had advantages and disadvantages but the numbers on both sides were very similar and it came down to tactics, training and luck to see who would prevail in each battle. Which side would discover the enemy fleet first and be able to launch that all important first strike?
5CB is a tactical event representing the last time both sides were almost even in carrier strength and the outcome in the Pacific was in the balance. Each side must use their a/c types and strength wisely in launching strikes as well as protecting their vulnerable carriers from attack. How each side plans and coordinates these missions will determine who wins.
