Overall a smashing night. Maybe the point margin we need for victory.

*Closed 158, 162, 165, 168-24 points

*Many ships destroyed including several DDs- big points there

*Complete and utter annihilation of the allied air force- bigger spread than last frame.

They did get a couple Dar stations and 99, but lost everything to do it. Inexplicably the 100th/AE were the only ones (apparently) escorting the buffs while their comrades played footsy over Malta. Hats off to TK wiping out the escort outnumbered at the time making it easier for LF 6 to tear into the bomb group. 352 for restraint and continuing the ground campaign. I could feel the dogs stretching the leash and it was nice to let them go at the end. :D Thank you Knights for remaining flexible and doing what you do. It is a big shame to lose your group again to collisions. Recommend any further CO to completely drop moving ships from your target. We've lost too many than they are worth.

Thank you Jabo and the Janitors for building a challenging series and allowing me to play king for a couple frames. <S>

GL following COs. The Allies are upon us, hopefully Jabo will take into account the failure of the allied invasion this frame ;)

A big SALUTE to you for a job well done. Thanks to the leadership of Swanee and his fighters and to Jman for leading us 190's. It was a pleasure having Jman and Madcat hanging with us.

I agree, the bubble on moving ships is way to big and I was at 125 (yea, way to low) when I blew up. Still, we learned a lot from Jman about flying the 190. Don't worry 352nd, I am still a bomber dude, LOL.

Now on to Frame 3!

I'm not sure what the Allied plan hoped to accomplish. Keeping the bulk of their fighters south gave the Axis free reign to destroy most of their beach heads. Their bombers sure needed those fighters for cover. Most of their success came from their noe planes going way north. With the resources we had and the size of the map, it was difficult to cover all of Sicily. It will be interesting to read their frame 2 orders after the series is over.

Looked to me like their strategy was to lure axis fighters into fights near their bases while keeping reserves just out of our Dar ready to pounce. It was odd the way they moved in and out of our DAR coverage. They made little effort to cover their Wellingtons. The result was we annihilated their ships and bases in Sicily. I don't think Allies deserve a foothold in Sicily now. :D

I think after last frame and watching videos it seems like they thought we were glory hounding everywhere, big winging, whatever. It's like they expected us to sit and defend, we attacked first frame. They expected us to be super aggressive this frame, and while we were to an extent all the cards were on our side begging for then to come this way. Twice now they've had the numbers to swarm us and failed to do it. Shrugs. Maybe they will figure it out in frame 3.

Post your thoughts on the Fame 3 planning thread. Do we want to use to 88's on hards or ships or do we use the 202's? Do we have a mix flight between 88s and 190s?

Kind of like capping over the channel while the bombers try to hit Berlin. :)

Post Frame recon would indicate that if the Allies are awarded F99 that it is a GIFT. Both "Houses" and "Ammo Dumps" are present on the OT List as required targets. When all the smoke cleared, F99 had two houses and the Ammo Dump still in one piece.

The Radar Emitter was certainly taken out, but the Field itself should rebuild and remain available for Axis use in Frame 3.

Happy trails...
