Jman,
Request permission for the RCAF/NS to fly Zeros and take out F6 and F8. A lot of us would like to be in the Zero next frame.

I can second that for the RCAF :D

Worth less Allied points than the buffs ;)

Jman,

This frame should be fun and I am ok with the Vals. I think that will a little excitement to the frame. As far as Frame 2 went, I am staying quite because you all know whey it was a failure. We really need good escorts whether we are in Kates or Vals.

This is me thinking out loud........

Sure would like to have the buffs attack Pearl historically.

To do that we will need to make sure protection is as good as possible.
To do that we need to have the enemy blind and believing they know where the buffs are.

So, 1. they ARE blind. Only scouts available (and yeah jabo dar, which probably makes all my thoughts worthless)
2. We Zekes can carry drop tanks AND 60k bombs. We also can gain to 30k+ in that configuration. Lets take our time and have the Zekes overwhelm the area (Pearl) AND drop bombs from 30k+ on pearl.
3. This will hopefully cause allies to believe buffs in area. (probable jabo will state otherwise so again---worthless). Allies will flock to area, Zekes engage and drive the allies BELOW 15k
4. Once the drive begins within seconds the buffs come in at 15k or above and do just as =jman= says.
5. This drives them lower and masses of dots go west, buffs are able to fight with frontal guns and the area of the fight is chosen by Japanese, all the while driving them down, with ALL the Japanese strength in that area.

Zekes can stay up a VERY long time, so we can literally bore them to death for an hour if you want, the longer it is the more spread out they will be. Then they will all rush to the "buffs" when bombs hit.

Out loud thinking ends

Is this possible now? Won't the allies be airborne or are they on the ground again until we attack. I would love to see a REAL reenactment of Perl.

Our time for the sneak attack was frame 3, we now have to deal with an alerted defense.

I do agree with Juice, I think the goal of destroying the American Fleet should be heavily considered as there was no invasion fleet for Hawaii so the attacks on airfields in frame 3 are useless in the strategic sense unless it was to lessen the defense for an attack on the ships in frame 4.

I know it was all about points, but if we do not attack the ships we are throwing out the whole reason for this battle. That being said, the Knights did take out 5 ships last frame.

my 2 bits since we plastred them last frame ..with them not having any Dar.. they will stay close to home this frame .they will big wing it for better safty.N effect. as a response to not having Dar coverage . they will send out scouts to find our attacking forces. we did this in frame 2 . an attack from the SW is what i rember from frame 2.. deek them .. in south westren, western. N North western approches with zeros.. then come in from North East hit outer eastern bases first fun.. pinning them to just Ford isle air base for the rest of the frame.. just need to make sure you dont get to far east on southern leg there CV will be in that area. dont want to popp on that dar..frame 2 the cv to far to the east N dar was out of range to help.. i expect they will have course altered to help some with dar this frame.
aslo frame 2 AE's /100th only lost 2 pilots whole frame .stayed intact N active.. compaired to frame 1 where we all died .. just for the fact the C.O."s of each group had a better plan N focas to stay in tight N cover each other.(great TS meeting these were). because an allied group seperated in this scenerio will get over ran . lesson learned from frame 1 ..
i also didnt see any F4F's in frame 3.. suspect to see some use them this frame possably

Well, having missed frame 3 (was my big B-Day) maybe I should shut up--Not. I'm not for basically "standing down" the buffs to protect our lead!
I do agree with going for the ships but if we are going in at 5 K why not take the 5 N with torps---after all--this is Pearl!

The ack will kill torpedo planes. If we go in at 10K and drop bombs at 7K, we probably wont hit anything. We just aren't great at dive bombing. Get below 7K, again, the ack will kill us.

Torpedoes do kill the ships very well though.

I agree on the dive bombing skills. So, send in X as 1st wave to take out ack, then the others follow to take out ships--unless it changed you don't need to be on the deck to drop a torp .
Or, as suggested, we can stay in the O club and copy the mail.
