T3 Frame 2 Orders

Last frame, in my opinion, was too loosely organized so this frame I may have gone too far the other way and have a plan that needs to be followed more tightly.

1st off, like Truk, we can only win if we protect Buff’s. The US gets more points from plane kills than us; we get points for blowing crap up. I need the fighters to restrain themselves and stay with the buffs. We have a tough plan and will need all the protection we can get with the buff’s. I know that we have not been keeping the lites informed of our positions as well as we need to. We need to improve this, its hard without us having any DAR I don’t feel like sitting in the tower, so I will be flying, so sometimes I forget to ask for the information. Also, lately the Buff’s have been on the same TS so nothing is getting typed into the buffer. If during the frame you need more information let me know.

Last frame we had way too many planes drop on ships, all the torp. planes ended up dropping on dead ships. It was frustrating as hell to be ready to drop a torpedo, 60’ off the water perfect line-up and poof! The ship is gone. I had to delete my Action! Video because of all the swearing going on. This frame we are going to split up the groups for the 1st strike. I am also splitting the “strike” guys off to give them jabo work.

Wave 1

Wave #1 we are having the Knights hit the ships again from the south and the UMM close F2. Timing is critical so please stay on the times. South group needs to be on DAR before the north group gets within 15miles of land.

All Buff’s CS 150, 90% throttle, Fuel 75%, level at 15K

Group #1
Knights, 475th and the 23rd up at T+0. Everyone start climbing and rendezvous at WP1. Circle to form up and wait until T+12 to proceed on route (white line). Dobs will lead the fighters on the run to protect the buff's

Hawk, split up all the boats between your guys! The 1st line (wp5a-wp5) is a line through the north ships, the second line (wp3) is a line through the east boats.

CAUTION: Wp3 is a little too far north, you may want to drop a little south before turning NE, otherwise you will be dropping immediately upon getting green.

Circle WEST and get over the water!

Group #2
UMM, LF-6 up at T+9. Everyone start climbing and rendezvous at WP1. Circle to form up and wait until T+21 to proceed on route (Orange). Noflyz, I really need you to work with your guys and make sure you close 2. This was used extensively by the AL during Frame 1 to replane and for ack cover. We need to take that option away from them.

I then need all planes in the tower by T+90. This gives us plenty of time to land. This means everyone! If needed, fighters are going to have to break off engagements

Wave 2

Wave 2 we are sending all the Buff’s downtown. Knights are hitting F18 ( and possibly any missed ships) and the UMM are hitting F19.

All Buff’s CS 150, 90% throttle, Fuel 75%, level at 15K

All aircraft launch at T+100. Start climbing and rally at m7. Circle until all are formed up. 23rd and 475th can push forward a little and the LF-6 stay with the buff’s. Pretty sure we are going to have to push right through the gut of the AL on this run. They know we will be coming from the NW so they will be waiting for us. With F2 closed we should be able to keep wounded AL out for the frame.
F18 is difficult to see! Please look it over before Sunday.

Strike Group
The NS and the RCAF will be flying together in A6M2’s flying Jabo missions, probably NOE. Let’s see if we can get on the same TS.

We are going to hit the DAR at F7, F23 and possibly F21. If things are going too easy we will go after F30 but I doubt it. F21 is dicey also, there is a fricking 40mm right next to it.

Second sortie we are going to try and take down F8. Not sure if we can. Could someone from the RCAF see if we can do it with the 60Kg bombs? I tried but can’t hit crap with bombs.

Please let me know if I missed something. Any changes will be in red.

Yes, either myself (Swede-) or Beaver-san but we all work together.

Dang, so I am west 10miles. Orders stay the same and times stay the same. This will give a few more minuets to form up.

Hopefully low defused works better in zekes then high JABO drops did. I consider myself a good JABO'r..and couldn't hit shinola with a bomb...even stuka style with gear hanging from altitude.

We never did try low defused, but just sharing our initial observations from trying to bomb from >5k in a zeke.

Might want to rethink tying fighters hand to 1 mile escort.... Allied will be high and waiting...

Recommend at least one high flight to provide top cover. So we aren't playing dodge ball all night..

There should be no Zeks's going heavy (except the strike guys). Yea, there is something odd about the bombs. There is a min. altitude they have to fall before they arm. I don't knoe what that is. I do know that defused can be dropped pretty low.

Sigh......
I don't know what to say. I definitely understand that being at 20K is a huge disadvantage. I also know that if you are any higher than that, the buff's are defenseless. Time and time again the buff's go in with high escort and the help doesn't come down until buff's are falling out of the sky. Happened last frame, last series and more. I don't know what the correct answer is, putting the fighters at a huge disadvantage or loosing 1/2 the buffs. I also expect that you will be in a huge fur-ball on that south flight. Should be pretty close to a straight up fight, I figure 30 vs 30.

Tell you what, I will get my nose out of where it doesn't belong. Can you direct the fighters? You can coordinate with the 23rd and put the fighters where they belong. Please keep the buffs safe.
