TBD is supposed to represent the TBF but it is a dog. Torps are super deadly though, they have an amazing blast radius now that can penetrate to buildings on shore. Having three launched into a group of static ships may be worth while and with a 1.5 bufftuff they should withstand some damage.

One thing to consider is closing the airfields in the first frame forcing the IJN to fly from CVs farther away or take Vals from the seaplane bases. Three fields may be tough to close but if you look at the structures associated with airfields there are a few easier targets to close. Same with some of the smaller docks. But generally attacking any static or AI ship will score you the most points. Target them and you will do fine in the score. The good thing about the static ships is you can plan your route offline and practice your run or dive bomb.

AI ships will be different than the MA. You can strafe down the freighters but not the warships. The AI warships will light up the sky around you but are not set too high on the gunnery skill so if you change alt and direction they will have a hard time hitting you.

I would launch your strike groups and have them wait off radar while the fighters go in and tangle with the zeros. Once they report it relatively clear you can then head in hit and run back with them covering you all the way. If you dont scramble your strike they may miss an opportunity if the zeros are forced to retreat toward their CVs or land for ammo. They can always land and replane with the fighter sweep if it does not go as planned.

Good Luck

Salute!

Good ships east and southeast of 22, plus a field.

Dive bomb for boats is tough, so maybe a mix of Tubs and SBD's could work. Donkey is right about the Tub, somehow the FM got really porked about two - three years ago when I was in beta testing. It used to be one of the most docile and easy planes to fly.

Ok gents...let's try this.....
The 352nd Fwd sweep, 4th from NE and 23rd from SE...climb high and plan to meet over F 22.
I Will GCI and have the strikes hold off Dar for clearance to attack.
Just let us know from which direction you will come in and we can cover you. Keep your fighters with you for added insurance. Hopefully we can gain air superiority and make it easy. Lots of hints in jabo's reply above. GL all.

VF-23 copies. Since we have the farthest to fly (distance-wise), it might be prudent to wait on us so all the groups turn into target at the same time.

Ok since no one is saying anything. Let's plan on a T+20 take off from the Southern CV.

KoN & UMM: TBD - 1 Torp - 65% fuel. We will go NOE once in DAR range that is 150 feet or below.
NS: Aircraft of choice - if you want to use torps. then join main group. Else F6F w/ 1000lbs are great for diving onto static shipping as well.

Targets are Shipping near F22 - hit the biggest ship you can find with a Torp, RTB and re-arm if time permits.

Let's all plan on meeting on TS and we can hash things out.

Here's a DTF file for the DAR coverage
