It going to be much of the same, I just need to hear from the team what you will be flying this frame and the I will figure out the plan for your group.

Let me know when you can.

JG127 has 1 frame of 109's and 1 frame of 190A4's so we will fly whatever you need to make the frame balance :)

I see that not too many people are claiming their ride for this frame. To help you planning, we will take the Me 262's for this frame ;)

I am waiting for LF-6 to decide on the A8 for this frame or to save it. We are the last ones with it and the talk so far is to use it this frame, but I am still waiting on a few more to give me input on it.

If we do use it then those who have said either is fine, then you will be in the 109 this frame and save the A4 for frame five.

I will have orders out by Friday or Saturday early.

Just a question fro the guys that fly the LW stuff all the time. Which do you consider the better ride? 109G6 or FW-190 A/4?

To answer this without knowing your definition of "better" will not have a correct answer.

Between the 2 planes, I prefer the g6 as the better dogfighter. I fly it as a regular ride in the MA. It has better ACM abilities. The A4 on the other hand is more of the boom and zoom with more speed and better guns, but if practiced can also be a decent dogfighter depending on the other plane and or pilot skill.

Our squad minus one individual, prefers the 109 series over the 190s. Mainly due to familiarity but a few key "feel" differences is what sets the 109 apart. I image it was much the same for experten of the era who went on record preferring the 109 above all else (II./JG 77 never flew 190s, or K-4s for that matter). The 109 is more stable and though less hard hitting is easier to "kentucky windage" the shooting solution because the rounds are right down the middle. Flown correctly the 109 can do what the P-51 does, the P-51 can just do it longer. Emphasizing its climb rate at shallow angles, the 109 "fights up" very well and is the most capable at high altitude for the LW with current FMs (probably should stay that way). Bottom line in dog fighting, it gives me more options to use as it is not the absolute best in any particular stat, but very good in many so you can transition your fight style. In gunboat form the 109 is no slouch at buff busting either.

That said the 190A-4 is my favorite 190. Haven't nailed down the why, but I and other squaddies have been able to dog fight well in it if needed. Doc is right, depends on your mission. 190 is a killer and a chaser. Very good if kept on the offensive, we've just had little luck if stuck in a defensive posture.

Just spewing thoughts out in an incoherent manner....

According to MA chatter the bomber guys think they done did very well, kudoing the escorts yada yada, not realizing how much we didn't attack them. We've stonewalled the northern route so it seems on face value they would try up the gut again. Saying this frame plays out similar and we hold the A-8s. LF 6 has the numbers to shed a few R6s to test for BT effectiveness. The other 109s roll in on escorts, the usual shtick, but in the process, and well in advance of the 190s, some R6s make runs on buffs. Mini shooters if you will. If they are far more killable (unlikely at BT 1.5) then we focus on the humans. If not, the 190s skip through like last frame. Hopefully we can appeal to jabo's sense of reasoning and BT lowers for Frame V. Then we have our heaviest hitters at the most opportune time. Sun Tzu critical mass and all that.
