Here are the orders I am working on: Changes are in red.

Basic Overview: I will have the 352nd do close escorts, the 4th forward sweep and the 23rd on our six. I really want to surround the buff group with fighters in hopes to keep as many alive as we can.

Seeing how we are lifting from L110, take off will be T-20...

We are going to finish off Berlin and crush their spirits!!!!

Bombers:

Field : F110 - this is for all Buff groups, Spawn point 2
Ride : B24D - 8x 1600lbs. GP bombs
Fuel: 50%
Climb Speed : 155mph. (.speed 150)
Target : Berlin CTY96 proper. Hit any of the numerous Houses, Warehouses etc.

Fighters: (squad choice of aircraft)

Knight Fighters – F108 - P-47s
352nd – F107 - P-51s
23rd – F100 - P-51s
4th – F106 - P-47's

Salute!

Got the orders.

For all buffs: the otto speed for 150 will not keep you at 150. Best the model will get is about 155 to 160 ( depending on how many beers you are taking to refuel). So if the fearless leader is holding back stick for an hour during the climb, then we dweeb wingies will also have to do that. Additionally, our range will decrease, and if you get slow, you can't catch up at the same climb angle. So my technique is to use 160 on otto, and scoot out infront and then climb a lot and get back with leader about 60 or 70 miles down the road. It's basic aero and the WB flight model.

EDIT NOTES: I have many of the manuals and such. I know what the real/planes were supposed to do. Our models do not allow trim below certain speeds according to our gross weight. I have flown all the various changed models since 1998 or so.

My rationale above for fast climb speeds stands, and I saw it in real life 45 years ago.

Not sure about all buff pilots or lite pilots here , but i do not like to hold stick presure for an hour, and really for more than ten or fifteen seconds. If you didn't have a hole in your glove's thumb after a month or two, then you were not trimming enough to reduce stick/pressure.

The WB flight models are giving us the big clue. So use the default climb speed and then add 5 miles per hour.

Gums opines...

Fighters: (squad choice of aircraft)

Knight Fighters – F108 - P-47s
352nd – F107 - P-51s
23rd – F100 - P-51s
4th – F106 - P-51s

Uhmm, respectfully request the 4th or the 23rd use P-47's this frame otherwise during one of the following frames, the heavies will only have ONE squad in Mustangs...

Check sqtc's post sir.....The 4th will fly Jugs this frame, so have the 23rd in P-51s.
With that setup, what is the job for the 4th? We can sweep to just east of F 56, where we have to rtb for egress escort duties.

Now I have been wrong before but I think the bomber AI have been fixed so where do you want them targetted Hawk? They should follow you as close as possible but can swing away to hit specific target before rejoining. Stranger things have happened maybe if they all hit the same target they can destroy it.

Hawk I will get them to hit the target 37. There will be 8 groups of 5 hitting that one small avionics target and with luck they may do it. Just think of them as your green inexperienced bomb groups straight from the states :)

They will have a slower speed than your B24s since they are B17s. I am starting them at 240 and up to 260 after bomb drop. So they will trail the player B24 groups and take some attention away from the lead.

Bomber buff-tuff is double now but otto is still weak so you will need to gun for each other when possible. Only bomber pilots may gun for each other so please dont accept gunners that you know are not bomber pilots.

PLZ get the download AFTER SAVING YOUR SETTINGS folder.

I also noted that I lost the Muzz ETO map, and do not wish to experiment the day of an S3 frame.
