Not wanting to speak for the 4th or 23rd (or any other) ........

Just stating what =sqtc= has stated that using p-47s throughout the series is a good thing.

Hawk, the 23rd has 1 frame of 1x P-47C. If possible, we would like to use the Thunderbolts this frame...saving the ponys for the finale.

We will of course, fly whatever is needed. If I may make a suggestion, since the 352nd have used their allotment of P-47s this series, I would make sure 2 of the 3 large fighter groups use P-51s
(ie: make sure the 4th and the 23rd aren't in P47's in the same frame :!: )

Just keeping info up in front sir

Let's go with your numbers and CS. Now the escorts have what they need to plan their stuff.

Actually, until your escorts know the total duration of the buff flight, "plans" for possible a reception escort RDV location or over-all endurance for the P-47s can't be done. Additionally, I'm advised that the "update" contains some fuel burn mods for the P-51B which have, as yet, to be tested. All either type of escort can plan on is the initial RDV point.

Salute!

Well, Wolfie, our total time will be about the frame time, heh heh.

Last frame we did not go direct and reach 26K, but dropped at about T+110. GASP!!! However, coming home is faster. Dew and Gums bailed about T+ 125, but were booking west at maybe 5 miles per minute.

So this frame we could beat those times, especially if we grab at a fast speed, like 150+, maybe 155. as that's as slow as you can get on Ottopilot ( the flight model is telling you something about drag). Our cruise speed is about 4 miles per minute, and we can't beat that until we drop. Then climb to 30.5K and haul ass.

So what are ya sayin' Gums? I am saying what I did on first discussion. The out front lites have to RTB before Big B and then lurch to meet us as far east as they can. The other two gropes of lites have to fly only one sortie unless they disco without damage, then they go with the reception lites. If you start down about 50 or 60 miles out from 30K at a good speed and idle, you can greatly increase range on the limited fuel you have.

We may even consider less than the complete squads flying one big gaggle. Stagger flights.

New Fuel Burn
P-51B

(2) 75 gallon DTs= 170 minutes

Thanks for the info, Mr. Gums. Nonetheless, it would be helpful if the fighters had some pretty firm numbers for the mission. Again, at the point that either of the available fighters have to shed their tanks, there is a finite amount of time to continue to go east. Just a reminder, if any fighter elects to drop a single drop tank for any particular reason, the amount of fuel in the remaining tank is HALF of the available DT fuel. (ie: ONE DT can not be selected in flight as the feed tank so as to keep the other one full.)

Can someone run the route for Dewolf. I think with the fuel load that Muskiezz and at CS of 150. Let me know if one can and if not I'll try and do it tomorrow.

I flew it late Thursday using Musky's numbers - 50% gas from F6 and 155 climb, and we might consifer 160 until 15K. I used 115% power until level.

You can't trim below 155 - 160 with that weight. 160 gives better range, shorter time and only decreased climb rate by 100 ft/min .Cruised at 95 - 100% at 26.5.

- feet dry nw of F40 at T + 40, and 19K
- a few miles north of F56 at T = 57 and almost 26K
- did Tac turns arround F78 and F92 until T + 90
- over Berlin at T + 95
- climbed west at 155 mph using 95%

Coming home will be interesting, but we'll be faster. Didn't time it as the 3 hour flight was already long for "practice".

Is it approve that ALL buff groups can leave from F6 and T-20 or T-30?

Gums, you ran this from F6 and not F110. Should we lift from 6 or 110? If so, we need to add another 27 to the time hack.

I flew the Musky rte that's been up for awhile, and it ure looks like from F6. BFD.

If we use 110, we an take 55% gas and then turn at F6 to Berlin.
++++++

Flew RTB to F6 from Berlin. Landed 180 minutes from takeoff.

- over Berlin with about 600 gallons, and climbed to 30.5K once headed west. Used CS 155 and power 95%

- cruised at 95% and started down 80 miles out at 50% and 220 speed. Leveled at 2K and landed with about 100 gallons or more.

Somehow I missed F110 for we buffs, and the notional DTF looked like F6. No biggie.
