Special thanks to hogjaw for a wonderfully planned frame, to -hawk- for the excellent target pictures and coordination of bomber runs, to swanee and the Knight fighters for protecting us over the targets.

Thanks also to all the frame COs, and fighter groups who have supported us throughout this series. And of course a huge thanks to Jabo San and the Janitors who make all of this happen for us.

Frame 5 In attendence were:

WLDBIL - A special guest!
gundoc
-pd---
sy-cho
guttdu
noflyz

In other words we had a full step worth of bombers for the first time ever!

As ordered and planned we started out of F50 heading SE to the water. Once feet wet we beelined all the way to F82 our first target. Formation was tight all throughout!

Earlier target assignments had us on the main field for most part, we were informed minutes before that the ship and boat remained standing at the port. sy-cho volunteered to take these out and made a short job of them soon. I say this to point out the excellent coordination we had with the KoN and the frame COs throughout this series. Thanks Hawk & crew. ~S~

Once at the field we made our run over the targets, and flattened several structures. The action was getting hot and we were adviced to RTB. Sending everyone back home I continued to linger over the field with a supply of 60kb bombs trying to clean up targets. I managed to destroy a few structures but fell an enemy P40 even tho the Knight Fighters tried their best to keep me clear. I thank them for staying back protecting me while I tried to maximize the damage at the field.

In the mean time KoN's rear group came in and pounded some more targets at both 82 and 81. Getting a damage report it seemed that they might be able to close both the second sortie. So after a quick consult w/ them and hogjaw we decided to direct our attention to F67 for a quick close. sy-cho took lead of the mission and the bombers quickly closed 67 and headed back.

KoN had in the mean time knocked out 82 and were going back for 81. We rearmed and upped. Flying to fight the clock both squads made it over target and had bombs out with seconds to spare. Did not quite close it but we came damn close, and boy it looked pretty down there the entire field in flames.

Noflyz,

Flying and working with you all was such a pleasure and thanks for the kinda words. I really do hope we can work together again and really like sharing the load in the planning phase.

Take care buddy!

I would like to add that I was impressed by your first series, UMM and NFZ! Very well planed, flown and communicated.

I look forward to the events in which you are Axis. That said...if I read Jabo's post correctly, we are about to launch into a 'Bombers into Germany' series, for which I think UMM will be Allied. I will toast to you when I don my Black Tanned Leather Chaps and sit calmly in Luftwaffe briefings to bring you down.

Horrido!

noflyz,

in your screenshot you have text shown that I would question.
If you would, could you explain to me what we are looking at:
is that some type of script which tells you which targets are remaining at a certain base?

hmmmm, looks like the old script has been re-instituted. I remember 2 years ago, some scripting was starting to be used to determine if DAR was down. Thought it was whawk that did it but maybe it was hawk.....

remember there was considerable discussion back then about weather or not they should be used, probably not much different than going off-line to look at damage.

I developed them purely by reading the help files and no other source of knowledge. If the janitors and the community deems it unfair then the given commands need to be disabled in the arena. There is no other way of preventing anyone else from writing these.

You are looking at what targets remain at the given base. I developed these purely by reading the help files that are included in the game. See the help section
on dot commands.

If you follow the Frame planning and orders threads you will see links to downloading these so you can do your own.

Also on our website I have removed the password for the KT series, these also have links on downloading and using them.

Great job on your first series UMM. I am afraid I will be trying to take you out in the next series, we usually end up German in those series. Watch out for a HO by a 190A4 ;)
