Frame IV planning thread. I'd like your thoughts on a combined bomb group raid on goodenough and then continue down to Milne bay to close 96, 105 and 106. I believe we have enough fighters to get the buffs in and out. The question is will there be enough bombers to get all targets to close these fields in a single sortie. If not, can the buffs get 96 closed then rtb in time to go deep to 105 and 106.

Another thought is finding the AI's and have a fighter group continue to cycle on them and score as much as you can.

............ Continue your thoughts below.

Sentai 127 will be in Zeke's for the rest of the series.

I would like to see the map before we make plans. Jabo said the border has moved North, so we may not have the fields on the East side of the Island, down south. We do have enough legs to hit any field, with escort the entire way.

The 352nd will be in the Ki-43 for Frame 4 and the Zero in Frame 5. Concur with the Beav that it would be nice to see the "real" map.

The map was last uploaded on 10-27-14 ... So I will now wait until it is updated. I seen his post about the frame IV map but didn't realize he forgot to post the new map. This will probably change my original thoughts on frame IV.

LF6 plans to be in the KI43 and save the A6m for frame V.

<S> drdart-

FYI - The Knights fighters have already used their allotment of Ki43s, and will be using the Zero for the next 2 frames.

We don't have to go too far to close fields, we can hit our old forward fields :D and now their shipping is much closer :D And they will have B25AI's for us to kill :D

Keep and eye out for smaller random B25s coming in to hit your assets. The otto is still something to be respect and they take a good amount of damage but they are not ackstars.
You have two major concentrations of fields but they are proving difficult to close. Maybe a sortie with torpedos or bombed up Ki43s to hit shipping off the east coast may make points sense too.

I'd like the bomb groups to plan a sortie into the area just SW of the 4.4X. By the time they arrive I hope to have the radar down so that it will not play a roll for the allied. Fields 80 , 81 and 82 will be the priority this frame, 80 being the first as it is the 3 step field. If noflys and hawk would like I can post images of the fields, but I think you know how to plan that for yourself.

Below you will see where they can see us on RADAR. The coastwatchers up north will be hard to get around with the way the mountains are situated. Hawk / noflys, let me know if there is a way for you to climb around and get to altitude over the water where radar does not play a role.

The image below is of F-80 looking north and the RADAR emmiter is just southeast of F80. If we can get this down before the bombers approach the area it will be a lot safer to get them in and out. At this point I am looking for volunteers for the radar emmiter. (this might be a suicide mission but don't forget what you are flying.) :-)

I am planning all bombers at F52. That will be 2 steps KoN and 1 step UMM.
1 step of KoN fighters a F51
RCAF will split fields 63-64
352nd will split fields 54 & 57
LF6 will split fields 48-49

KoN fighters will fly close support with the buff group and the rest of the fighters will sweep forward and clear the path for the bombers. The areas for each group will depend on what the buff groups come up with for timing and route to targets.

More to follow after I hear back from the heavies. hawk or noflys feel free to contact me for planning purposes. I will give you the support in and out. I just need to be on the same page with you guys.

If you have any questions or would like to handle the radar emitter please speak up.

~S~ Dr. Doc. San!

Here's a rough sketch of climbing out of DAR, requires some NOE flight as we leave base but that should not be an issue.

Times are pretty rough I have not actually flown it yet. They should be accurate to +- 3-5 minutes. Also T is when we actually get off ground :-D
