Gentlemen,

We are in the final stages of evacuation. The last few days we have been getting hit hard by the VVS, and have been losing operating bases at an alarming rate.

On the bright side, we have nearly evacuated all of our troops with minimal losses to our evacuation ships. We have bloodied their noses time after time, but they throw aircraft at us at an alarming rate with no regard for losses.

Today we cover our ships. We will have the last of the troops out before the end of the day, and we can fly our aircraft out this evening.

Observed tactics to date: Early Sweep to engage our fighters and then bring in the bombers while fighters are low in altitude, low in ammo, or low in fuel.

Orders:

AE: (F1) You will patrol the front in a West to East Cap. Get as high as you can and try locate any inbound forces. If it is fighters you are cleared to engage in an attempt to drive them away, drive them low, or kill them. Due to lack of available radar, it is up to you to detect and report any enemy contacts. You should take 100% fuel and your option for a drop tank.

LF6 (F220): You are our main Striker Killers. Take your 190s, 100% fuel and drop, and set up your cap in the Southern portion of your assigned AOR. Do not commit ALL of your forces out unless VERY large group is reported. 109s from 23rd should be committing out in Front of you to engage/strip escorts.

23rd FG (F28) You are our main escort engagement force. Get as high as you can, and set up CAP in Northern portion of your AOR. Support AE to the North with a 4 ship if they need help. Stay on station and commit out based on your judgment when fighters are called, or large group is called. Strip escort/force them low or kill them….ensure the road is plowed for our 190s to engage the strike aircraft.

475th (F28) will be 109s with drop in the Western AOR. They will climb and patrol the North part of their AOR with orders to engage fighters, report bombers, and plow the road for JG77 in 190s to kill bombers.

LF127 (F257) has SE AOR. They will climb and patrol the East part of their AOR with orders to engage fighters, report bombers, and plow the road for their 190s to kill bombers. Recommend Fuel 100% and drops.
All forces…once at altitude, throttle back to conserve. Keep an eye low…radar is very limited.

Contingencies to consider:

Enemy decides on fast and low strikes….Recommend you leave at least a 2 ship 15kish to be able to visually see NOE aircraft.

Enemy concentrates on one side of the map. Stay in your AOR except for our Middle Cap. You may commit out when you think you are needed, or are directed out. Stay home, cover our AOR.

Western most fleet is pretty far out…we need to keep an eye on them.

My game plan is to have JG77 in the western AOR, cap along the Western AOR border.

I expect feints with fighters…I expect a sweep to try to engage us early. Unless there is strike aircraft, avoid temptation. We have advantage at altitude…they have advantage below 7k.

GCI: I need response if you have someone working GCI for your squad or not. This will dictate on my level of participation as a pilot. So please let me know.

If we have guys who can’t fly or don’t fly but can play GCI or coast watchers that would be great. I would love to have someone at F209 and port 67 as coast watchers to look for inbound aircraft.

Group leads: I need a call to say when you are committing out of the CAP.
MOB is F28.

GCI comms:

Group: 1 or more Bandits

Heavy Group: 5 or more Bandits

Threat: Closest enemy on Radar to you. So if you hear “AE Threat North 5 miles” , it makes sense.

Track: direction of Travel.

Maneuver: No clear track established…they are either orbiting or fighting.

Furball: Merge of friendly and bandits.

Mergeplot: On my scope you have you merged.

Faded: No longer on Dar.

Target or Engage: Directive call to engage group. 23rd Engage Heavy Group 2,2 intersection track South.

If I don’t call you by name (squad/group) no need to acknowledge. If I direct you, or call you by name. Acknowledge and I can give you updates or just STFU.

If you downloaded the files before 1800 on 1 October. Please redownload due to Radar Picture missing one Radar. Thank you DrDart for the help with this graphic and for the catch in the missing Radar!

Nice post of orders dobs, it is appreciated. One question though, I grabbed the files but don't see the frame 5 dds file to drag to my WB's folder, unless you were talking about the included graphic.. which is fine as well.

Thanks Beseas. Any idea how many yet? Your backup tasking may be in one of the western Aors if they start doing low shipping strikes.

Last couple of frames the IL2s seem to be able to attack the SE ports effectively. Not so much Sevastopol or the main airfield at 220. They like to run into hillsides and the over water approach works best for them. They try and target high-value targets with bombs but are pretty dump and wont strafe or rocket.

I expect our two northern radar sites to be early low level targets to mask approach of any buff group, or buff ingress route to be in one of the radar gaps....or both.
Radar is bad enough as it is , so I imagine those two north ones are high priority for them in any case. A very likely approach into Sevastopol would be from the north over the water, and mebbe even more east to keep themselves on their own radar for as along as possible.
