4th had 12 pilots show on time for this one and kept bombr as GCI for first couple of sorties.
Based at F21(MOB), I decided to fly the LA5-Fn with it's long legs, figuring we could cover more area
along the front.
1st sortie we launched and climbed north, then NE towards the F261 area with sections at 20k, and 25k.
Spotted some activity low near the shipping and sent a flight of 2 to investigate. Turned out to be a friendly(vulche) tangled with a few golds who exited as we got there. Jedijc managed to get a few hits and
one turned into a kill as we rtb'd for fuel and ammo. Will wait for the S6 to see if there were any assists.
2nd sortie, bombr had us head to same area, only to vector us north as he saw some activity on radar
up there. We proceeded to the north end of the channel (around F293), once more with a section high(about 26-27k) and the rest at 23k. Spotted bandits well above us with 352nd in chase as we started to climb up to join the fun, one of ours got separated and was bounced from higher up. Lost pc-alex there
and played cat and mouse towards the SE. Decided to rtb and re plane for the next round. Heard the buffs were to attack in the F 8-F 77 area and relaunched to meet them. 352nd had already been otw and were
ready to leave as we approached at medium altitude. You guys scared them off as we saw no bandits to
play with and trailed the buffs back towards f 221. From there we headed north to cap the front while the 352nd rtb and re planed. Hung around F 261 looking for low bandits attacking shipping and or the field.
Buffs were launching to attack F 259 so we headed NE to meet them and escort to tgt. Advised buffs we would have about 8 minutes on station at tgt area before we'd have to rtb. Continued to tgt and apped area with 352nd uneventfully, the rtb for fuel.
As our remaining a/c were being refueled(lost a couple on landing accidents), GCI spotted large formation of gold near F24, so we launched to see if we could locate them. By the time we got there there was no time left for ground strikes, so we saw no enemy a/c in the region. Decided to land at F234 and stand down for the night.
<S> to hawk for taking the first frame and with comm delays and confusion, doing a good job.
Once again <S> to jabo and crew for another exciting round with relatively new map.
