Axis took it to the Allies in Frame 2 at least on the ground. They closed 5 locations to the Allied 2. This means they moved the front south 15 locations and have pushed down through the Monastir Gap into Central Greece.
In Frame 3 the fighting will again be over the mountainous central region with no ground attacks allowed in columns 6-12. Squads may base there but the focus will be to the west where the German tanks have busted through and the Albanian front where Greek forces are threatened with encirclement.

Summary of score will be up on Saturday but the new map should allow planning for Frame 3.

The 352nd will provide a Frame CO for Frame 3. COs and Flight Planners are encouraged to take a look at basing opportunities for the Frame. Based on what you have seen in the first two Frames, please post target(s) that you feel are realistic for the distances and number of objects at the selected fields. The enemy appears to have a host of targets which can be attacked prior to anyone's arrival. We also have forward airfields which "could" be lost to enemy attacks. Targets selected by Groups wishing forward basing need to be those that can be closed on the first trip there just in case rebasing to the rear is required. All CO and Flight Planner suggestions will be considered prior to Orders being issued.

Personal observations from Frame 2 included:
AAA seemed to be "dialed-up" a bit from Frame 1.
GV hardness seemed to vary from Frame 1.

EDIT:
It would also be handy if each Group could advise as to their aircraft of choice for the Frame. Additionally, if you happen to select the Hurri IIB, please advise if you find any value to carrying the bombs.

Happy trails...

F132 can also base squads for operations and since its in the 6 column cannot be attacked by the enemy. It is a bit exposed on the far right flank though.

Anyone based at F117 will end up based at MOB, however it is not that far back as it was in Frame 2.

There is a bridge between 113 and 111 that has no AAA defense. Even a HurrIa can take down a strand with only 50% ammo (that is my lousy shooting), there are probably 5-6 bridge spans there.

RCAF 127 Wing has 1 frame of Hurri Ia's and 2 frames of Hurri IIb's. I will check with Swede and we will let you know what we think is feasible.

Only the center span seems to "pop". Strangely enough, it is the one with the label.

The bridge span is an associated target with F-113. Can RCAF127 get both in one sortie and get out with your skin? If you can't get everything you get nothing.

The whole point of the "solicitation" is to select targets that have some REALISTIC opportunity for closure.

I'd like to strike at F125 and F124, but we'll need a dedicated group of escorts. I'd like to be based at F132 or somewhere close.

Nice maps wolf. Always helps when a side has a graphics guy onboard.

I was looking at the Ports, 111 and 10 on the Albanian Coast, 111 has 6 static ships in the harbor and 10 has 4, however I don't see any points for shipping, but there are docks at both bases and they score 6 points a piece. The Raiders need to use a Frame of Swordfish, or 1 step of Swordfish in 3 frames. Maybe Darryl could set up 1 flight of swordfish to sneak over the ocean at sea level then hit the docks and disappear back over the water. If you disperse, they could waste a lot of manpower trying to find you.

It's frame 3 and we are, apparently, needing to push the enemy line back northward while picking up a lot of points. I would highly suggest that we score big in both of those areas. We can't afford to let them have another frame like the last one. We need a plan that will bring us more than 50 points.

Once again, we should have respected the "holiday" weekend in the USA during scheduling. We were down about 20 pilots that the S3 planners were expecting. Remember, Mother's Day? People do other things during the Memorial Day 3-day weekend.

The DRs are our only bomb group. They have available: (1) Frame Wellingtons, (1) Frame B-25C, (1) Frame Swordfish. Do you have a selection for Frame 3? What do you expect your turn-out to be? In Frame 1, you had almost two steps, in Frame 2 you had almost 3 steps. IF we could close THREE different Large Airfields, or a combination of Large Airfields and Ports, we would not gather 50 points. I would suggest that being able to clean-up any three of these locations is an unreasonably optimistic goal with the amount of real estate that we also have to protect with limited resources.
