Okay, we need to come up with a way to gain a sack full of points while denying the Axis any large gain of points. It would be much easier to plan if we had the new map. We are going to need the 23rd to use their P38's to close outposts and arty while the bombers, in their B17's concentrate on fields and any outposts between them. The bombers should be much better able to withstand LW attacks as they have no 190's. Feel free to post any ideas or suggestions.

We need a little offense and defense of our offense lol.
Id say the 23rd in p38s out of the gate in a remote areas down south to hit outposts.. Then rebase closer to action if need be and set up to escort b17s high alt. Darryl! please keep the b17s togetherin tight groups of atleast 4 , in frame 3 even 202s were able to take down loners up high.
Let the spit 9s find and harass the enemy weakest link. the 202s. Try and force the 352nd to have to spread out and cover more area. Let the b17s take the time to get crazy high alt and hold in racetrack (NOT in center areas of map...maybe over the north sea) until the biggest group of 109s is refueling.
since we dont have the fuel duration in spit 9s lets use them as our only offensive and disruptive weapon. We cant afford to have any spit 9s waiting in the wings and then refueling accomplishing nothing. We need to get something out of every sortie. Lets use em to go looking for trouble. Be fearless in them but keep em high, if you drive down the enemy we are winning the engagement. No need to fight in the weeds , if we do well it will be on bombing stuff and keeping attrition low.

Good points Gums , also would be a better profile for guys that disco, etc.
The big cons I can see from a fighter perspective is Axis window of opportunity would be greatly enhanced. It might work better for our escorts against the 109s to be medium alt but also allows all axis aircraft to get a shot at you.
Makes sense to be able to see the targets better, I am just concerned most of you would never get there.
Would it be bad idea to have a lower alt group and a high alt cleanup group? I know there is atleast a few eagle eye guys that could probably bomb from 24-27k
Also could be cool to have a couple b17s operating along side the heavy p38s down south. Let the 38s drop, climb, and hang around till the forts get there.

JABO says: "The axis still hold a commanding lead, 368.15 to 283.70, going into the final frame of the event."
The difference is 84.45 points. Frame 4 was a wash because we were at a virtual tie with the points. The Axis maintained their 80+ point lead from frame 3. They will win this series just by preventing us from picking up points.
I know the map is still not out, but I assume we are going to pick up 8 pieces of real estate. Most likely, we should pick up F91 and F14 airfields and outposts/artys 62, 47, 49, 15, 70, 30.
If that comes to pass, we should launch every fighter we have with enough ords to knock out the following within the first hour of the frame:
Outposts/Artys: 72, 73, 31, 33, 34, 36, 71, 67, 44, 43, 42, 41, 45, 46, 56, 51, 50, 57 = 56 points
Outposts/Artys: 60, 59, 61, 40, 37, 38, 39, 65, 9, 75 = 31 points
Total: 87 points (These points will wipe out the current deficit, only. We would need to pick up another 50+ points during the night, just to make it close.)
Question: Would the fighters have the fuel/ords to get to and destroy all these targets?
The bombers would probably only be able to hit the following targets during the frame:
GAF: 80 (5 points) Town w/airstrip: 5 (9 points) Town: 27 (5 points)
Total: 19 points
Question: What will they need to do just to maintain the current lead? In his evaluation of frame 4 JABO said: "the axis superiority in attacking allied tanks and shooting down allied a/c made up the points gap." Their strike force was held to 5 target closures. The rest of their points came from hitting ground targets and killing our pilots. We have to limit them in these areas once we have gathered the points suggested above.
Questions: Who have they been sending to knock out our tanks and Ai a/c? How many pilots do they send to do this task? Can we park a couple of fighters over those assets to keep them from racking up too many kills?
Questions: What a/c are they limited to flying in frame 5? This may determine how we can expect them to conduct themselves in the final frame. Will they have a/c that can strike ground targets? If so, how many? Where will they likely strike? How many of them will be in a/c that can only shoot down our a/c? How many and who will be flying them? Where would they likely be based?
Hope this gets us thinking of how we might actually win this series.

Sorry about the map not being updated but you can log into the arena and see the new frontline.
Allies have F14 to operate from now though.

Luftflotte 6: C.202

Looks like these first three squads will be trying to mainly find us and stopping us from closing any targets or killing any Ai a/c or tanks. Maybe a few will cover their strike forces, too.
Night stalkers: Ju87D
Knights who say Ni: Fw-190F8
These two squads will be trying to close as many outposts along the front line, as possible. The NS will most likely be gunning for shipping or tanks just to pad the lead. <S> robert CO 336th of 4th FG
