We were split ..10 P-38s heavy and 10 Spit IX, with the P-38s at both F 89 and F 22, while the Spits launched from F 87.
1st sortie the P-38s closed 45,46 and 62 while our Spits stayed high for cover with the Haze.
P-38s scampered for home while the spits found some 202s and we lost bwild. All rebased at F89. our home base and got orders to try to close F91. Launched as a full group with heavy 38s and clean Spits
NOE to F91 and proceeded to take down most hard tgts and lost pappyb to ack while therest ran for
home. This time we had a few skirmishes and lost a couple P-38s who were damaged by ack and
finished by LW. Stonie had to ditch in the desert, but of course he found some friendly natives
to feed him and give him some beverage. A lone LW found him late in frame and strafed him,
leaving a few native women in tears.
The remaining P38s relaunched and closed F91 where we lost a couple more trying to get out.
All in All we destroyed 53 ground tgts and 3 kills with 2 assists, but lost 12 plus WLDBIL who flew with us on our jabo missions.
Big <S> to =wilz= for a good plan and keeping all in control..Thanks to jabo and crew for
another nail biter.

Very convinient to have the plane blown up while inside it, as the local chieftain is furious about his suddenly pregnant daughters.

P.S. Unconfirmed rumours tell Stonie was spotted back at base as late as yesterday...

Was fun to close that many fields so fast! (and survive)

Stoney hit his head pretty hard when he ditched into the hard desert floor.
When he was revived from near death, he found himself kissing those big beauitiful lips.
Dude! It was an hallucination! A mental mirage! (...they were camels!)

It was a LOT more than a few, don't ever let that chief know I'm alive, & don't believe a word those camels say. They all lie!!
