BTW....SpitV has drop tank....SpitIX does not.
We will probably fly SpitIX/P38 split though after checking rides in S6.

I would suggest basing the bombers at 77 and have many of the fighters converge on F14 and F80 to allow the bombers close both of them in the first sortie. Once they are closed, the threat in the North is diminished significantly. They'll be using them, for sure. If we close them quickly, they'll have to rebase much further back. Our rebase is at F10. What is theirs? While that is happening, the bombers can return to base and the fighters could take down all the outposts around them.

We need to have a huge frame 4. We have 86 points to make up. Then, we need to pull ahead in frame 5 to win the war. See below:

Bombers: 15 points
Based at F77: Close 14, 80(first sortie), 91(second sortie)

Heavy Fighters: 73 points
Based at F22: Close 47, 62, 46, 45, 56, 51, 50, 61, 59, 57 (Total points: 28)
Based at F79: Close 49, 55, 44, 43, 42, 41 (Total points: 20)
Based at F78: Close 15, 36, 67, 71, 34, 33, 66, 74 (Total points: 25)

Total: 88 points

How we go about getting all this done is the big question. Of course, it would be nice if we could stop the Axis from picking up a huge number of ground targets, too. We may have to be fortunate to find their bombers at the right time. Who knows?

Bombers will have to hit 14, 80 from about 8-10K only. No time to climb up high.

Just some suggestions....

You thinking Mitchells Darryl?

Secondly, I stick with my idea of defending our own turf as much as we can right up front.

LW seems to have run outta JU-88's, so expect heavy 190's to fight their way in and out. Tuff row to hoe for us, but they have to be low to bomb stuff, so hanging up at 30K doesn't seem the way to work for defense.

Yes Darryl I'm sure the LW will use F14 to try and enhance their position in the north. I would also expect them to push to F77 to further box us in. I don't want an all out free for all early in the frame. If we loose to many of our assest we'll be defensive and they will run over us again. I don't like S3's that are over in less than an hour.

Can we compromise?

Will you have enough bombers to take down F14 and possibly F80, while still sending noe bombers to the south. I would like to see a multi-pronged attack. Not a lumbering herd of bombers fighting both in and out of the target. If we loose to many of our resources early in the frame with a mass attack, we'll be playing defense the rest of the night. I know the 352nd will take on the fighters first and leave the buffs until they destroy the majority of our fighters. We can't stay on enemy dar any longer than we can help it, or we'll be down on both fighters and bombers early on.

Remember you are going to be on dar almost immediately after takeoff. So this needs to be a quick strike before they can mass their fighters.

What map are youse guys using?

I only show DAR at F81 and F85. So we won't be on their DAR for almost all our route if we hit 14 and 80. 14 and 80 have no DAR.

Then we scoot out west and re-group.

Base closure is harder than the outposts, but we can prolly do it or make things tuff for the LW.

I stand by my idea of defending our own bases and assets early in the frame, with less escort for the buffs, even tho we're sitting ducks in Mitchells, not so much in Forts. We have two large lite squads and then the smaller ones. So seems we could spread out the battle with heavy lites versus using many buff gropes.

You're running the show. I was just tossing out stuff to consider. When can we get on TS and hash something out? I don't play to lose, so we need a really solid plan for this frame.

Gums, was a first attempt at the dar picture and just used everything close to the front. Basicall they have covered and 10-15 miles into our side.

Darryl, I'll try and be on TS around 6 PM Pacific.

Anyone else who wants to join in the planning I'll be on MA Green to start off, then we can move if we get unwated folks.

Will try to be on TS at 2000 CDT, if that adds up.

I flew over all the outposts and bases in the "other" side and could only find two radar emitters - 81 and 85. Found "radar stations" that need to go down according the the "show" file, but no emitters. May need a clarification from Donkey-breath.

The DAR coverage may be a bogey man, IMHO. Besides that, 20 miles is about 4 - 5 minutes for our buffs, so they have to be ready and respond quickly.

Both bases look tuff to close, but we could still make them miserable.

The SpitVc has drop tanks, it is the SpitIXe that does not have drop tanks.

BTW, RCAF 127 Wing will be in Spit IXe's.

I kind of like that plan also :)

There are two types of RADAR objects, RD (Emitter antenna) and RS (station), both provide DAR coverage. The outpost all have the RS object which provides DAR coverage for 20 miles.
