Had to slpit the group; half at F 14 and half at F 78. We were to escort the DRs/Nomads on their northern run..... Due to a server belch, we were late getting off F 78 so the 335th and 336th(from14) got to F30 about 15 miles ahead of Horseback and 334th, so we picked them up as they closed F34 and started to F36. about the time they closed 36, we spotted LW high and as the fun began, the server dumped all. Once it was back, it was a scramble to set up new route and escort. 335th and 336th launched girst from 14 and flew south while horseback and 334th launched 78 and went south toward 79 to meet buffs. As we passed 46 inbd 55, our high group(335/336) got jumped by enemy from well above and our 334th was above buffs while horseback was their six. We engaged a load of 202s, with a few 109s and I believe we kept them off the buffs for the most part, but it was bloody for us as none made it home safe. A couple of sorties and lots of excitement....<S> beaver for CO and jabo and his janitors for another nailbiter.
