So lets see....frame 1 allied loses two carriers to strafing for 12 points. Frame 4 we lose two more because guns ack on allied cv's turned down for what again exactly? So another 12 points.

Leaving out all the other stuff - we then get a gazillion penalty planes for having no where to land and or using a cv to refuel.???

I am not a brain surgeon but something does not add up here!

The whole point of attacking the carriers was to force those 4 steps back to the Russell Islands area where the F4F's would not have the range to engage around the front ;)

You are correct in 99% of the scenarios. If you die and there are Kamikaze's in the frame, you may teleport to the Kamikaze Rallying point. Or, there have been instances where you flew 1 mission to start the frame, then changed to another aircraft and were able to teleport to your new field. In all instances where you can teleport, it is specifically mentioned in the rules.

Don't know about the DR's teleports. The 4 from the 4th FG were due to misunderstanding between the 334th and the Allied CO. I'll be reading the C-47's guide to air superiority.

DR was following orders. no one ditched at an outpost.

Dazed...I'm sorry for the miss-communication, The 334 was absolutely the first group I ordered to the CV.
I intended you to fly there from where you were... though I didn't use those words.

I think control and command was excellent by both frame COs last frame. The log is hard to read sometimes.

NOTES
1. S3 Litany - 1 life, 1 a/c type and no teleporting. If you land a field and dont take off from there that is teleporting.
CVs are like a field and rebasing to a CV means you fly to or from it. Common sense stuff if you remember the Litany.

Artydd – Landed at outpost (F33) and teleported to CV (F09).
Furnac – Landed at outpost (F33) and teleported to CV (F09).
sycho- – Landed at outpost (F33) and teleported to CV (F09).
ciaio- – Landed at outpost (F33) and teleported to CV (F09).
jeepny – Landed at outpost (F33) and teleported to CV (F09).

All these players will be flying C47 mission to start Frame 5 unless there is something the log is missing from these entries. Log gods are checking into if the sinking of a carrier puts you back to the nearest outpost.

That's exactly what happened because none of our guys landed anywhere that was not approved.

Darryl <S>

I am sure they landed at approved fields, but they are not allowed to teleport to a carrier, they would have to try and up from where they landed.

If your carrier sinks when you are on it, you are done for the night unless your plane can fly underwater :D

During the Frame Jabo stated that if you were on the CV that sank, you could take off from the remaining CV. The DR's are stating that when the CV sank, the game teleported those DR's on the CV to F33. They then took off from the remaining CV per Jabo which shows as a teleport back to the remaining CV. As an example below from the log, I don't think Ciaio- could have flown the 20+ miles from the CV to F33 in 33 seconds after launching from the CV or whatever the gap was in the log updates.

If I'm understanding this correctly, those that are stationed (in tower so to speak) on a CV and it sinks, they then get moved to the nearest outpost.
I know that the S3 senario is to mimic RL as close as possible. So technically, if a pilot stationed on a CV sinks with it, he should then be finished (short of swimming to the nearest outpost then hitching a land ride to the nearest airfield from there). I think Beaver hit on this.

Those left in the air would then land at the nearest airfield, fuel permitting.
Not enough fuel? Then you ditch and your night is over.

Maybe we should bring the PBY into the game. :)

That log looks like the pilot launched and ditched 33 seconds later (probably due to the CV being under attack) and was closer to F33 than an enemy field. Hence the landing at F33 credited. Ditches in friendly territory do not show as ditches. They show as safe landings. Looks like a ditch at sea then after the CV was restarted they teleported back to the CV for another launch.

Read my lips... WE DID NOT TELEPORT! There's something up with the system that caused the group to be attached to the F33, but we didn't ditch and then teleport anywhere.

Hope that settles the matter. Waiting to hear from JABO about fixing the log for us. We were given permission to take off from the other CV and we did. Period.
