Get the ditching question a fair bit. Some aircraft ditches somewhere and somebody doesn't get the kill. We used to count airframes lost for points so maybe we need to go back to that. Right now its just confirmed kills. This helps weed out the newbies crashing on t/o, ditching on the tarmac etc. But a basic understanding of the new terrains and aircraft procedures for t/os and landings should be mandatory.
There are only 20 rules in this series. For the next one we will add another covering ditching and lost airframes.

<S> Gums, no problem with moving to the CO forum. Not looking to take any points away from what the DR's did in their attack. All valid and worthwhile. However, because of real or perceived enemy aircraft presence they set it down on an island covered in trees. IMO that should count towards the enemy point total, likely not in this frame but definitely in future frames. Just my opinion and we can move this if desired.

Salute!

I read you loud and clear, Todd.

The F49 coast watcher terrain is not close to those neat pics you posted, which captured the historical role those dudes performed..

So I landed there several times today , maybe busting the tail wheel or whatever. No titanium palm trees, heh heh.

That being said, we prolly need to have Jabo make it clear that a "ditch is a ditch" and not something else. In defense of DR, they did not try to fly again. No way to takeoff there, and no teleport back to a Frog base.

I have always had game problems with bailing over a friendly field that you could then takeoff again or take a jeep and return to assigned fields. Sheesh. Jeep gets you and you lurch back to home plate or whatever. Did it myself in real life. Gotta change rules for that scenario, ya think?

I don't think we will see this again.

Gums sends...
