At this time it looks like Nomads will only have a head count of 2 again this frame. After looking at CV route map I would like to request the Nomads use the CV and let us go ship hunting in the 3.4 and 4.4 area-or wherever any scout may find. Also think we should , as always, have caps on as many of our assets as possible. However, also think it would be smart to search, find and destroy the 1 CV group they have left. Doing this will hamper them in the next two frames IMO.

I don't believe that CV losses carry over to the next frame.

I was wondering if we should load up the CVs with fighters and have them look for shipping/cvs while the strike groups hit the static ships up north (no CV or enemy base nearby) 4 destroyers & 4 transports = 20pts. then we could hit the ships in the west (if there is enough time).. probably have to choose between which we want to do/support.

The AI destroyers are worth more than static ones....
Just so few steps available in the area compared to all the japanese airfields nearby to go with their CVs.
We have a lot of shipping down there to protect too.

Just a few thoughts anyway.

Hey Cool,
Looked at map again-- I agree. we could base at 53 or 54 and maybe pick up some good points. Last frame, Gundoc took out 4 ships and could have got more if not for disco issue.
Will wait an see what the big man comes up with.

352nd Navigation Support Dept.

Our Group is lucky enough to have several guys who are fairly well checked out on the magic electric box. Pilot -KBar- has created a file for our Group that we are willing to share out for those who are "scouting" for Frame 3. We happen to use a "standard" grid location format.

Image

-KBar-'s .dtf file has all of the subgrids superimposed over the "standard" grids on your tower and in-flight maps. The file allows fairly precise grid locations. This may be of help to a scout aircraft attempting to give out the EXACT grid coordinates of shipping targets. In the above graphic, it would be fairly obvious that the red shipping is at 6,7,5, 5-4. The grid file makes the map a bit "busy", but does allow a precise location. BTW the code for this particular .dtf file does not clear the screen and will overlay any other .dtf file that has been brought-up if the grid file is entered secondarily

We would be happy to share this file out with Allied COs or flight planners for possible use by their scouts. Hopefully, these individuals can share the file with their own members. COs and flight planners are welcome to contact Wolf and a copy of the file will be forwarded to you.

Happy trails...

F-43, F-45, and F-50 become Allied in Frame 3

NOTES:
1. Frame 3 will be a storm frame with low light and clouds at all altitudes. Only one CV group for both sides is operating in the southern body of water as indicated on the PDF map. The front has moved forward again with the US landings in New Georgia. The base at 33 is closed but they have 43, 45 and 50 now in operation on the islands there.

F-45 will accommodate (1) step of aircraft.

So, the question is: Which Squad gets the American Kamikaze assignment to put up their ONE STEP of airplanes against the SIX STEPS of enemy airplanes from F-38 and F-40 which, likely, will want all the points back from F-43, F-45, and F-50? The enemy can arrive and be gone prior to any "help" reaching F-45 from either the CV or the Russell Islands. The "alternate" scenario is to just let them have those three fields back and not worry about it. The enemy could accomplish this while they have their scouts out looking around the ocean for static ships to shoot. Generally speaking, our forces would be "better off" if those bases had stayed closed.
