For all maps and rules etc.

Japanese carrier groups were scouting the northern route into the Solomons and were lucky to find inbound strikes to F33 early during the day shooting down several TBDs without escort. Later the same group would confuse the CV defenses and sink two carriers due to a jamming of inew radar controlled AAA.
Allied strike groups from the Guadalcanal area had a very strong fighter escort so they could attack F50, F45 and F43 several times during the night. Japanese fighters could not penetrate the sweeps and CAP to get near them. Wildcats using their plentiful ammo loadouts also strafed down many ships and targets at F33 and in the Slot.
Most of the unequal fighter vs fighter combat took place in the New Georgia area with the Wildcats claiming 24 Zeros to the Japanese fighters 1 Wildcat. The Zeros did manage to shoot down 5 TBDs loosing 1 to their defensive fire.
A heavy attack by Japanese Kates with heavy escort took out most of the shipping in the southern region of the map, sinking 5 DDs and 3 Freighters without loss. This was the lone attack of the night by Japanese strike assets.

Allies take a lead 70 to 49 after the first frame.

Good Luck in Frame 2

NOTES
1. Several CM errors during the night with settings and AI routines. Rebuild times allowed multiple attacks on the same targets and one of the DD routines covering the Allied CVs wasn't engaging. My apologies on that it wont happen again.
2. Radar is very minimal in this series by design. Strikes have to have the ablilty to hit where the enemy is not. Look at the PDF on the hidden rdar layer and it will show that some locations you think have radar, do not.
3. All settings have now been reset to be the same as the MA. This should allow everyone to test and practice without confusion when it comes to game day. Lots of good things in the MA settings and we feel they should be allowed to run their course. So as they are tweaked in the MA they are applied to the S3. If there are adjustments in a specific S3 event it will be by scoring not settings.
4. S3 arena setup for testing but you can test also in the MA. Except for the different terrain, plane vs plane combat would be the same.

If you updated this week you need to replace the downloaded Solomonsrds.vfc with the older one.
Having an issue deleting the airfield artifacts out to sea. It deletes all the fields as well.

Download the file below and pop it into your WBs root directory and overwrite the existing solomonsrds.vfc

http://www.squadselectseries.com/archiv ... onsrds.vfc

Will need some time to get to the bottom of this issue so try and ignore those sea fields out there.

OK...
I did the update very late yesterday evening. (said to self: "don't do it too early, but don't wait until the last minute")

I see today it's broken.

I did the file swap fix recommended and logged into the S3 arena... NO RUNWAY seen. (same when I went to offline and got an air start.)

3 hours, 15 min to T-0.

Now what?

Yes you can see on the spreadsheet the totals of each type and relative points for each frame.
