In the very beginning of the frame it might benefit us later if we send a large portion of our fighters on a "heavy sweep" to bomb the radar sites and interrupt any early strikes.

If we can blind them for the frame they will not be able to vector their strikes around our cap.

Just a thought, I'm not even sure how many radar sites that would entail....

COOLON:
Too many radars to worry with, imo. Better use of fighter assets would be to park over remaining targets and wait for them to cross scrimmage line. :)

Salute!

I have to agree with Darryl. The Dars ain't worth it.

We need some buff escorts, but we have enuf lites to defend and take out the Knights' JU-88's.

We have the Stalkers to sink boats.

I doubt hitting the LW parked planes due to the closed bases and distances. Ditto for the AI JU-52's.

WOW! They picked up 172 points? Even more than I thought, but at least we also picked up more than first thought. We still have a 45-point lead going into the final frame.

We really must defend our assets like never before. Gotta spread out all over the place and not let them get anything. The targets are fewer and so, it won't be too hard to cover them. Our fighters are excellent and will slaughter them as they come across the frontline. Gotta protect our shipping, too. They'll send light force (Jg77) to try to intercept the bombers, so we won't need as much support as early frames.

They'll try to hit our bridges, ships, and C47s. We only have TAC 42, 43 and a port at C20 left for them to take out. If they get TAC 42, 43 that's 30 points. If they get the port, that's potentially another 15+ points. That would pull them even with us. So, they'll have to pick up a lot of ships, bridge spans, and C47s.

If we close at least 3 large bases, that would be a wash with our field and ground target losses. Then, it will come down to what our strikes and fighters do for the victory. I really don't see how we can lose the war, fellas.

Yep, they may got for th port right away due to distance from LAF44, which Knights have been using.

Then there's all the bridges, which just " keep on giving" due to the rebuild feature.

We have great DAR and might consider two dedicated GCI guys and have "sectors" for defense. I know that this is not the way the real LW did things back then, as Cat has pointed out. But whatthehell.

We'll just have to dedicate a fair portion of our fighters to defense, while still having good escort for the buffs.

Gums can take one GCI slot, but we'll need some "standard" procedures to vector the defense to the attackers.

Gums ponders.....

Does anyone have an up-to-date graphic of RADAR coverage?

I agree with Darryl and Mr. Gums. Protect assets as priority and be careful with our heavy bombers in final frame. Only way LW can win is to close more fields, sink ships, and/or wipe out our 4 engine bomber group (which is hard to do). Let's focus on defense and make them pay. They have to be on the offense F5 to have any chance at victory.

My two cents....

13. Frame Damage - fields ruled closed during play will remain so for the rest of the series, they will be destroyed before the next frame begins with all associated objects. Any partial damage will rebuild between frames, only those fields closed will be carried over from frame to frame.

Unless the radar site is ON an airfield, there is every reason to believe that each of them damaged would rebuild between Frames. I would "assume" FULL RADAR COVERAGE.

Looking if anyone has radar coverage plotted on the map.
