Will be on the fly I'm sure.........

Repaste from Open Forum to get started ......

This series will be a re-boot of the last series run by Jabo before his retirement. Operation HUSKY is underway and Allied air power, flying from Malta and bases in southern Sicily are providing operational support to the advancing Allied armies. Expect lots of fighter-bomber, tactical bombing action trying to close field locations and knock out bridges. Fields will be made a bit easier to close with fewer mandatory items for closure. Coordinating actions in advance of a frame will be critical for success.

Series rules and plane sets are being adjusted from the original FAE set-up to reflect lower player turnouts. I will try to have them posted before 9 May. Battlespace will be restricted to the eastern third of Sicily.
Bombers will be allowed to use the GV login with AI wingman restricted to the same a/c type as the player. Axis and Allied bombers will be limited to operating out of GAF-2 (representing Sardinia and central Italy) and Malta, respectively.

Series schedule is tentatively set as starting next Sunday, 16 May, and running of the four consecutive Sundays without a break for the Canadian or US holiday weekends. Janitors are assuming COVID 19 will be restricting many of your traditional travel plans. COs, please advise ASAP if you see a problem with the schedule.

Tentative plane sets
Each air force gets three aircraft from the fol set (no duplicates, i.e. one ride per aircraft)
WDAF: Spit Mk IXa, Spit MkVc, P-40N-1 (KittyHawk sub), B-25c (2 AI wingmen)
USAAF: P-38G, A-36, P-40N-1, B-25c (2 AI wingmen)
Regia Aeronautica: C.205, C.202VII, Bf110C-2, Ju88A-4 (2 wingmen)
LW: Bf109G-6, Fw190A-4 (stand-in for Fw-190G3, must be flown as a Jabo), Ju87D (1 AI Wingman), He111H-3 (2 AI wingmen)

Frame 1 - USAAF versus Regia Aeronautica
Frame 2 - WDAF versus LW
Frame 3 - USAAF versus LW
Frame 4 - WDAF versus RA
Frame 5 - Sides to be adjusted based on results of previous frames

Squadron side allocations - TBD. We need confirmation of expected squad turnout as requested in another thread. Intent is to provide Allied a slight numerical advantage as they will have a harder time attacking than the axis defending.
Allied/Axis forum password will be re-set and an email sent to the COs as soon as the sides are firmed up.

352nd Fighter Group C.O. (V) - "The Blue Nosed Bastards of Bodney"
487th Fighter Squadron (V)-HO
486th Fighter Squadron (V)-PZ
328th Fighter Squadron (V)-PE
We have the whips - KILL THEM ALL

The 23rd appears will be 2 pilots. One is not so keen on flying a bomber, but I do whatever is necessary. Splt is on R&R until next week.
