THE WINTER WAR edited 1-22

AXIS FRAME 2

Airmen,

We have absorbed a mighty blow from Russian bombers. However, Finland will not fall so easily!

The Army of the Isthmus, composed of six divisions with the II Army Corps positioned on its right flank and the III Army Corps,
on its left flank has dug in along the Mannerheim Line.

While our troops are out numbered, we are better prepared for the cold and snow.
The Russians are known for their love of vodka... our troops will introduce them to a new drink...the molotov coctail!

Airmen, your orders are:
Strike the advancing enemy ground forces.
Protect our ground forces from air attack.
Defend Towns 74 and 68. Do not let them fall into enemy hands.
Town 81 is being used as enemy supply depot. Destroy F81.
We are using Town 62 as a supply depot. Protect Town 62.

Hyvä onni! (good luck!)

I might be late for Frame 2. Buffalo Bills are in the AFC Championship game.

Note. Russians are bringing tanks up. Historically they got bogged down on the narrow Finnish winter roads.
(Troops jammed logs into their tread and then hit them will molotov cocktails)
If you can strike them early while they are still on the roads (in road formation) it will be easier to hit them.
Once they get to the front, the tanks will spread out to engage our ground forces.
It will be difficult to hit more than 1 or 2 on a bomber pass at that point.

Russians have many T-34's. A direct hit with a 250lb should destroy it.
But remember even a near miss may disable a tank's treads (or turret).
Hitting them early and knocking out tread will keep them from getting to the front and out of the battle.

Also. Because there are bonus points for destroying a% of more points over our opponent, we need to focus on supporting our ground troops and destroying the invading Russian forces. Don’t focus on furballing.

Destroying their tanks, and their supply depot and defending ours will yield us more points than destroying their fighter aircraft.
