Field capture/closure requires static aircraft and GV's to be destroyed as well as the usual targets. If in doubt, bomb/shoot/rocket it anyway. The maps I have downloaded in the mission objective topic, show positions of aircraft and GV's on or around fields AFAIK. I'm not claiming 100% accuracy on any of the field layouts but it might help...
