Thanks to all who participated in last night’s S3, Frame 3 of Race to Berlin, June 14, 2020.
We had a setting wrong and some closed fields did not capture as they should.
Both SPINDZ and I were watching and closing and reopening bases as reported by players.
SPINDZ fixed the setting about halfway through the event.
Some players were concerned that players could take armored vehicles during the S3s. That has been available for players to do for a very long time. Many of you participated in the Kursk and the Korean events with us when we had significant tank battles under the air battles.
As we try to grow WarBirds and the S3 events we want to promote the armored side of WarBirds to players of World of Tanks. We had 2 new players on last night who say they can help us do that.
That is why I asked SPINDZ to set up was the AI to battle on two fields closest to front allowing forward deployment only between two so the sides could fight each other in armored vehicles. These two fields could be completely ignored by those wishing only to air battle. The AI would battle itself between the two bases with no impact on the air war. It did allow a few players to fight in armored battle with, again no impact on the overall air battle.
Another point of concern last night seems to be the lives provided to wingmen.
As you know we have had the GV login for some time.
This was set up so, with limited bomber pilots, we could get more bombers in the air with controllable wingmen.
With the GV login which we have named the Wingman Login, players can have a designated number of wingmen, all of which can be flown and commanded.
If a B-25 with two wingmen is attacked and the human leader is killed, then the human player is automatically moved to any surviving wingman to continue the mission.
The Attacking player gets points for a human kill and now has the opportunity to get another human kill, (much higher points than an AI kill), so I believe a win for both sides.
Hope you had a great time and see you for Frame 4 next week.
