We should close 20, 26, and 27.

How about 4th FG go IJAAF, launch all Betties to close 20, 26, 27 while the Allies are busy closing our other fields. The 352nd go IJN and escort + strafe where needed. Maybe LF6 go IJN (so we don't overstep the IJAAF restrictions of 30-50%) as well and go B5N2's to close something as well, or go Zeros to help the 352nd. The 4th could then go Ki-61's or Betties as needed.

P.S. Nookyb is there a way of making those maps a bit smaller size? It's to large for my 1920x1080 screen and screws up the forum posts since the text doesn't adapt/wrap and all the text lines, in all posts in the topic, go outside my screen due to the picture size.

Yes I can make them smaller.

Don’t need bettys for the coast watchers. We could go noe and strafe.

Do we have any kind of plan for tonight?

I need to know who is Navy and who is Army tonight. the 4th has been: F1: Army, F2-3: Navy.

I think the Japanese forces are doing poorly this series as there have been no CO's for any of the frames so far. With each squad doing its own thing and not communicating with other squads, there is no way to coordinate our defense and attacks.

The Raiders will surely try to close all of our bases in one or two passes. I would expect them around T+45 - T+60. We will need a high CAP ready to engage their bombers before they drop. If we just CAP the field we are attacking buffs that already dropped on our field..not worth the risk IMO. In fact, letting them go, means they have to fly back to base, taking them out of the fight much longer.... I would try to send out scouts to find the buffs before they get anywhere near our bases. The 4th can hit the Coast watchers 20, 26 and scout for buffs in the Slot.

If I were the Raiders, I'd probably roll 40, head SW, And attack our bases from the South. They had the Blacksheep covering them last week and will probably have the same. Black sheep are based at 40.

I think we need some high CAP in the 2,5 to 3,5 grid...with scouts pushing into the 2.4 - 2.4 grid

Let me know comments and other ideas so we can coordinate.

The naval squadrons will not be much help for land based operations as they finally will have a carrier they can reach from a carrier. However, they also have 3 carriers to cap. That will be a challenge but if we see Allied making a play for the carriers from their fields in New Georgia, we have fields close enough to lend capping support. I have added the latest intelligence reports for both sides they will come up in their respective radio channels at the beginning of the game.

I thought of something this week we should have done but now it is too late. We should of had 38 and 37 devoid of planes but available for emergency landings only. We could have put a Douglas there so a stranded pilot could fly back to their home field. The bombings both fields took for closure would have taken weeks to repair and be ready to house new squadrons.

How many Bettys are needed to close a base? What if we sent two small flights of Bettys to close 38 and 37. They could put them back on their heals. Let the navy take those fields on Choiseul. They could fly to them as almost as fast as us. Navy could then continue and set up a picket between Lavella and Choiseul to scout for high bombers. We need to get back one or more of those bases we lost last week. Also bomber should only be a Henderson. In my reading the only field I ever saw bombers up from in the Solomons campaign was Henderson. Too late to change that now. Or could we maybe give them 45 with bombers but take them away from the any past that. 40, 38,37 and 31

Thanks Juice.

If the intelligence is correct you should be able to go carrier hunting this frame from a totally Naval situation. However, it seems the Allied have cared little about finding our carriers. I don't know if that is because they could not find them or they were just more interested in closing fields. We have done a better job of removing the Allied carriers than the Japanese did originally.. :)

Kate if that is true about buffs, maybe we can have buffs available only at 45 and East? Or only from Russells and Guadalcanal? It would make sense since the japanese were continually attacking the islands all through this battle that the Buffs would be stationed well to the East...

if 4th is Army, we can still hit 20 and 26 then maybe close 37 we'll need to get some target screenshots quickly for the squad... I'll try to get them after dinner and email them out.

4th will base at 16 since we might role buffs..I'd like that longer and wider airstrip.
