I'm not the CO of frame one but I want to start this discussion.
I do not know if the enemy have restrictions like we do. so then they will have CV ops and a attack force as well ..

We have 12 pilots to allot the F4U to for all frames.
And 6 to B17 hvys. These hvy's must be protected at all time.

Our first objectives airfields in zone 1..we will get heavy resistance because of tgt zone is to tight and restrictive..we need diversions and timing .because number are even and brute force is not a viable option..

We have a CV group to use as a attack force.

So we need to start our planning on to how, what, when, and where..

Lots of objects to destroy. Given our limited strike numbers and heavy opposition it will be tough to close them all.

What objects must be destroyed to close a field?

Just my two cents.
1st I believe we need to take out the coastal watchers at 57, and 62. (I am assuming these are axis controlled).
Than we need scouts to look for enemy cv to make sure the bomber route will be free from radar.
The longer the bombers are not spotted better off we will be.

AT higher speeds zekes turn radius is greatly increased so they aren't as maneuverable. Once they get below 200mph they turn like the devil......be not afraid if they are fast

I was slightly late for the start, (it's a 0230-0300 time for me), but I'd like to comment on the game play as it unfurled. As the fields were no different to the main arena ground objects and as they are regularly closed with 2 bombers in that arena, the bomber force in the S3 is excessive and way, way OTT. Can you introduce more targets on the ground or is this genuinely too much work? If the fields are to be kept as they are, then I predict a resounding success at every stage unless the IJN forces are given an advantage.

Perhaps to properly win the fields we should also have to troop them as was the case in RL, men on the ground secured the hard won territory and this would give IJN an opportunity to slow it down or prevent it altogether (with GVs?).

Please don't view this as adverse criticism, especially as I'm trying hard to learn the process of S3 organisation so I do appreciate the effort & time involved, it's great to fly with so many at once for a change and to fly in a coordinated manner (mostly!) but perhaps we need to make this a tadge more challenging for the bombers. And on that score, the 'coastal watchers' are impossible to see from altitude, could we not divide the bombers into high heavy and low medium attack groups, the low buffs to hit ports and radar installations? A question arose last night as to why some were able to see the little target squares, some not, me included. Any idea why?

I look forward t the next episode...
