********UPDATE********

Adolph Hitler is furious. Weather reports have come in. A thick cloud cover approx 10-12k will obstruct high level bombing operations. The weatherman has been shot. Hitler is adamant that the attack goes on. No one dares suggest a delay. Therefore, I have adjusted the route as we will no longer need to climb to 20k. We will climb to just above the clouds and come down below the clouds before we drop ordinance.

After the turn at F57, type in ".vor 97" that should give you your Heading to target.

The route has a nice long straight approach from F57 so green up your sights early!

I tested the wingman distance... set to Echelon 250 and you will hit targets on both sides of the posts.

ESCORT FIGHTERS May want to hold their launch until the buffs make their first turn, then vector to where the buffs will cross the 11 line (5 miles E of the 2,11,x)

The outposts have widely scattered targets, brown boxes are bunkers and need to go down, the nets cover antitank guns and need to go down.

vslp,

My goal at this early stage of the Series, is to knock down and close as many of these posts as possible to reduce as much ACK as possible. After these two sorties, we should be able to launch 110's and Stukas (with fighter escort) to go clean up and close some of these posts. Once closed, the posts 'should' become our next frame. - Crossing fingers that this works.... I would have preferred high level bomb drops, but now with the cloud cover our buffs are exposed. Fighter Escort will have to be on the top of their game!

I believe we actually will hve to capture them when they closed.
Hard targets go down, kill the ai there, it goes gray ( contested) and then it can be trooped by either side, by plane or gv.
Kill hards first, then ai, if ai are killed before hards are down, they will respawn.

Ill ask Kacey to clarify. I believe he told me we can troop a closed field and it will immediately reopen as our color but then will be vulnerable to attack from the other side. If however we leave it closed it switches color for the next frame. But I need him to confirm this.

I stand corrected. Looks like we need to capture. I suggest that on sortie 1 we concentrate dropping on the first 4 posts to close. (Instead of dropping on all the posts in that line) Then we can go back later with a low level strike to hit any remaining targets. Trying to get troops in could prove difficult. But we shall see....maybe we can drive troops since we have gv’s.

12. Closed Fields and BDA – Combined Arms action with be seen in the bulge area east of Kursk. All fields will remain closed until end of the frame. If not captured they will return to the original color at the beginning of the next frame.

Heres a thought, and just to clarify system workings.
When the hards go down, it is indeed closed, but not capturable. enemy cannot roll from a closed field/outpost.
Any follow up strike either by plane or gv would THEN kill the ai, at which point it can be captured by either side.
so..you COULD close however many, they cannot roll gv's from them, l;et them sit however long you need, and THEN go back and kill the ai, making it CONTESTED, upon which it can be captured/ or recaptured by either side....so..you don't want it contested unless you got troops on the spot, THEY can take it back.
INtel channel reveals a lot and to clarify a couple of terms
Fixed assetts down= hards are down/field closed
field is now contestable=hards are down, must kill the ai to "contest" the field.
Field is contested and can be captured by either country.
So.....a high alt first strike would weaken/close a outpost.
A lower alt ground strike mission to kill the ai with infantry on location to capture as a follow up.
Note, if an outpost is attacked by air assetts, the outpost will generate antiaircraft gv's
If a outpost is attacked by tanks, the outpost will spawn tanks to defend it..
IF we had a dedicated tanker, with the gv log in, they could do any follow up after the big airstrike and kill the ai and troop it...airpower softens, boots on the ground take it.

ugh. I wish they wouldn't keep adding this contested garbage.

Ok so we do the two buff strikes. Then in the last hour of the night, we focus on closing/killing gv's and getting troops in asap.

Thanks
