S3 Series

MISSION #1

Target will be the Aluminum production facility on the western edge of Koln.

Bomb group consists of: Nomads, Doolittle's Raiders and volunteers from fighter squads.
Bombr & I will fly bombers & lead from there.

Bomb Groups will roll from S58 due north climbing at full power +1 wep
at waypoint BRAVO we will be making a slow/wide left turn to 180
upon hitting the coastline (CHARLIE) we will towards target.

Our goal is to get to 24,000 ft with a tight group of bombers and make a straight speed run to target.

Escort Duty
4th & 8th please escort bomb group as you see fit.

Fighter Sweep
352nd & 23rd will Launch from L44 and proceed to sweep towards S60
(getting between the false target of L89 and the northern axis launchpoint of M67.
You do not need to go all the way as the cat will be out of the bag shortly, but if we can get some of them to launch early up north that puts them out of position.

When the bomb group reaches CHARLIE please come south as best you can towards FOXTROT & GOLF performing a sweep along that axis and joining with the bomber group as best as you can.



MISSION #2


Target is the Avionics Production facility (PRIMARY) and the Aluminum Production facility (SECONDARY) North of Frankfurt.

Bomb Group
Once again we will launch due north climbing with the same turn as in sortie 1 just not as far due to time constraints.
We will overfly S58 and turn towards Bremen to look like we are hitting the Avionics South of Hamburg.
However we will turn south and hit the actual targets shown.
Timing or enemy action may change plans in flight but we will deal with that then.

Escort
4th & 8th will again fly close escort as they see fit.
352nd & 23rd will fly a "close" forward escort position and follow the route as shown.
Fighter squads are free to adapt as they see fit.

I think first sortie we will have 1 or 2 pilots in buffs. 2 of us are going to wait for the second sortie to fly a buff it appears.
Also, The bombs are working as advertised now. Two direct 500# hits will take the toughest building down. Hope it stays the same for the frame.

Just North of the first sortie target (Al factory) is a Steel (S) factory which isn't the target. The Steel factory (S) has three large buildings in a line N to S whereas the real target (AL) doesn't...makes it easy to identify what is NOT the target. Don't get an itchy finger!

Highly recommend bombers check these in off line to practice.

One last word, last frame 2nd sortie the buff formations got spread out all over hell and gone. It is imperative that buffs form up and stay close. Can't protect you if you don't. <S> bombr-

Nice mission plan. Targets are MA strong with bombs taking down the biggest buildings so one hit will do you. Still not sure if the AI hit much of anything. AI bombers go down very easily even though they in theory have the same hardness of player bombers. Good news is AI flak isnt working above 20,000ft.
