http://www.squadselectseries.com - new map and summary up

Allies would continue to target radar installations in the second of their two offensives in the south. Several important bridges would also be attacked but due to weather and bomb fuse problems several intended missions had to be scrubbed. Typhoons made their first appearance with two coordinated attacks on the inner radar position of Rotage(136). Bomb fuse problems would plague the British 1000lbers but despite this the three radar masts at Rotage were taken down. Though not an important radar installation this did help reduce the radar coverage west of Fecamp(135). Three important bridges and a railway tunnel entrance were also hit during the night. B25s hit a couple ports and sank several ships. The Luftwaffe was content to stay at home and defend. Often they caught the lower Typhoons or B25s by staying high and waiting for the enemy to come close to the French coastline. 32 RAF planes were shotdown for the loss of 13 German fighters. B25s were in the thick of it, shooting down 5 enemy interceptors while loosing 10 of their own. RAF Tiffies had the toughest time of it loosing 15 ac to enemy action, 3 to AAA and 12 to fighters. They did manage to claim 3 kills themselves while loaded with defective 1000lbers.

Still need a few AARs and S6 to finish scoring but it looks like another Luftwaffe victory in Frame 2. The RAF have opened a radar hole in the SW of the ops area but much of the higher scoring missions have not been attempted. If they attack the south again for the third and last time they could capitalize on their initial radar success.

Notes:

1. Dfuse on 1000lbers and higher are limited to only working if they can arm in the air for 4 sec. Otherwise they will not exploded. Its a MA thing that seems to have effected S3 operations.
2. Lower turnouts and higher discos reduced the numerical superiority the Allies are supposed to have, especially in the strikebomber groups. Kudos to the Allied frame CO keeping the plan together in the face of adversity.
3. Good news is other than with the Dh98 IV B not much complaint about the revised FMs.

Updated summary with pilot losses. Allies continue to lose more than the Germans not unusual considering the fight is all over France.

Dewolf pointed out a couple errors in the mission list and it is corrected on the map as 1 and 2 and on the list. Revised.

Arena open for testing and public
