I expect the Allies to take out DAR at 189 and 186 and field 190 as well as port 83 to blind us when they are approaching.

Only 186 is really defenseable.

Until Frame 4 we only have to defend against B25J and the TBF. They have Jugs, Hellcats and the Corsair F4U-1D. P51D arrives in Frame 4 and Corsair F4U4 in frame 5.

WE have Ki84,N1J1, J2M, Ki61,A6M5. It is pilot choice, but some have operational restrictions, rules not up at time of this post.

Plan your ride and practice as the update on Jan.1 have made substantial changes to some of our aircraft.

It would be "interesting" to get one or several of the so-called AI Bomber Routines running in the S3 Arena so that Axis pilots can see IF they can be successful against the AI gunners of said AI bombers in ANY of the available aircraft. IF the Axis can't score kills on the buffs, it will be a short Series. IJN pilots will, additionally, be required to fly a different fighter aircraft in EACH Frame.

Here is my thought

352nd - F182 and 183 - be 20-25K over F186 to prevent high bombers taking it out or to react in the south.
RCAF &8th F186 - be 5K over F186 to prevent low bombers takimg it out or to react in the south. (TBF hunting )
LF5 F167 - go to 4.6.x to cover the western approach, might have a few guys low to watch for TBF's

sound good?

Beaversan - you suggested Lf6 to be at the 4.6x to cover the western approach...4.6x is east of Kyushu. Please clarify.

I was flying a little today and this planes DO NOT roll like they used to and seem to stall a little more "easier" at slower speeds/AoA

Jugggo is right. All the wing profiles have been changed and how they slow speed stalls work are all different I believe. The F6F5 was totally reworked. Dont think it was very uber before though.

IJ can fly any of the listed fighters they want. So that makes it easy. Find the best one for you and stick with it. Unless you are a bomber killer then you may want some heavier firepower.

AI bombers have been very easy to down for the last two years now. At some point something was changed and it seems even the heavy bombers go down at bufftuff 1.0 with a short couple of bursts. AI gunner accuracy can be set in the routines and will not be uber because they are in a stacked bomber box. There will be a lot of MGs firing at you so their abilities will be set somewhere at the 25% mark.

I will try and get some running in the arena. Problem is they always seem to need reloading and I am usually at work out of town and cannot monitor the arena.

S3 Clarifications - the S3 staff reserves the right to make a ruling on questions or game situations not answered completely or missed by the rules.

From the Rides and Sides List, I take it that this Clarification nullifies:

"A/C = squad assigned a/c steps. All steps must be flown during the series. when and what mix is up to the squad CO."

So, to keep it "easy", any IJN pilot who desired to fly a Ki-84 in each of (5) Frames would not be penalized for that action.

our DAR locations-147 (West Island-NW), 170 (South-Shikoku). 185 (Mid East-Kyushu), 186 (Island south of Kyushu), 189( Island 40 miles North of Okinawa)

189 is given up, we can't protect it.

186 - we are making a concerted effort to protect it.
147 - unprotected, may be attacked.
170, 185 - LF6 is in the area

173 - South East Shikoku can't be attacked.
