http://www.squadselectseries.com/events/CTK/CTKmap.pdfIn the final frame the VVS continued the strategy of avoiding the massed fighter sweeps of the enemy. Early strikes by P39s and Il2s hit F11, F261, F298, F71, F234 and F125. Both 261 and 234 were soon closed and several shipping targets sunk in the sea of azov. The slow IL2s were determined to get to targets but the turnaround was long and 11 fell to the guns of the enemy, most to the vicious AAA found in the region.
Mid frame the main Luftwaffe strike force of Ju88s heavily escorted by 109s took out the last medium field in the region destroying F190 and only losing two bombers in the process. Axis 109s continued to triumph over the inferior Russian fighters shooting down 23 for the loss of 13.
Later in the frame the VVS returned to attacking wide-spread targets taking on 292 and 122, closing 122 in the process. Ju88s moving back into the northeast, guarded by a heavy screen of fighters attacked and damaged 74. The VVS was busy off Sevastopol sinking more shipping for a total of 12 AI ships during the night. The Axis found some shipping in the SE corner and sank two of them.
VVS won their second frame in a row 74 to 58 but the initial Axis lead was too much giving the Axis the win - 359 to 291.
Thanks for testing this new terrain and submitting bug reports. We learned a lot from this experience and version 1.03 should have some improvements and corrections. Its one of the few terrains that can have historical events frrom 1941 to 1944 so you should see it again next year.
