S3 Series

Jagdgeschwader 51, Jagdgeschwader 77 and Tainan Kokutai are announcing their allegiance to form “Luftflotte 6” (Lf6).

Luftflotte (air fleet) was a designation of organized specialized units that were created and operated in differing geographical regions as new territories were occupied. Luftflotte 6 was based in the far eastern front. The Luftflotte reported to the RLM, but controlled all aspects of aviation within their region, including strategical and tactical reconnaissance, fighter attack bombing and fighter support.

Mölders, Herz-As and TK are comprised of players dedicated to exclusively flying on the Axis side during the Squad Select Series. These squads bring experience in the S3s, veteran leadership and unique squad attributes to form a cohesive unit to battle against the large Allied squads. The individual squads will retain their squad identity and name during S3 play and while in the Main Warbirds arenas, but base and fly together as Lf6, a three-step unit, in the S3s for series and planning purposes. Overall command of the unit is based on the theatre of action or a rotation during consecutive events using the same countries.

Alliance began in Frame 4 of CKC and continued through Frame 5, with the official start beginning next series on 05 January 2014.

The CO/XOs of the individual squads will continue in the CO rotations outlined by the Janitors. Additionally, they will continue in discussions on the bulletin boards as both commanders of their representative squads OR as a representative of Lf6 when responses identify as such. Any required disciplinary action on part of the individual squads will be handled by the respective squad and any action pertaining to Lf6 will be discussed within Lf6 command. For series and frame planning, we are a three-step combined squad identified as Luftflotte 6 or Lf6.

Imperial March will be required to blast over allied airwaves upon our impending approach.

Good luck LF6! I think you will again enjoy flying in a decent sized group! My old Pale Horses peaked at about 20-24 players. Our interests and real life shifted our focus to the S3 from the main arenas. Unfortunately, we, as most squads do, lose players due to attrition over time. Our lack of a main arena presence made it impossible to recruit new blood. When we became small (4-6 regulars), our effectiveness in the S3 was compromised. For a while we flew with the 'CG's, but they were difficult to coordinate under disparate leadership. Eventually we teamed with the AE for a couple of good seasons. This past year we moved to the 76th in the 23FG, our new happy home. It is great flying with a large organized unit again!
