Orders received. Will try to have RP time tomorrow.

<S>

P.S. We have no way of testing the S3 Malta map. The Free Flight button on splash page is blacked out. Hasn't worked for several updates ago. We'll just keep you informed of our location and get to the RP as quickly as possible. We had trouble getting to 20k last frame. We'll try to get there before TOT. <S>

Not sure if I'll have the time, sir. will try, otherwise I expect buffs to start ingress somewhere between T+30 and T+45.

Attention!
The Spitfire engines choke at 38 000 ft. As such I was thinking about having a wingpair at 38 000 - 40 000 ft above Malta, just tracking the movements of the enemy high alt fighters. These scouts would also have the opportunity to sporadically boom n zoom if being careful about their energy state. Once our bombers arrive the scouts will of course join the battle.

The scouts would climb with a droptank at bst1 until climb rate starts to diminish, then drop the external and get above 38 000 ft.
Is this a good idea and if so, any volunteers?

Cheers!
/Robert

I am working within the CA login to learn the nuances.

I may try to use torpedoes for the attack - can you more experienced bomber dudes give some tips on how best to make the attack run? Not so much on where to drop the torp, but more on how, within the CA environ, you would drop, switch to AIs, formations, etc, etc.

Arigato gozaimasu!

Scrap the scouting plan. I ran a test and sure, you can get to 38 000+ ft at bst1 step climbing, but the 109F-4 can only maintain 33 000 ft altitude at normal throttle (100%). As such we can't send scouts or they would soon burn out their engine.

Recommend drop the externals and use bst1 once our buffs are closing on Malta and Spitfires are expected, as it's a huge difference between bst1 and 100% throttle above 30 000 ft. At 100% we'd be escorting at 33 000 ft and 180 mph (TAS), while on bst1 we can enter enemy airspace above 35 000 ft and 260+ mph.
