At the risk of continuing to hijack this thread, I'm with jabo. The T+160 rule has been around for quite a while and everyone should have realized the attack was going to be a photo finish. I missed the end game thanks to some untimely .50cals, but would have been quite happily continuing the fight trying to clear the way for the Kamis. Too bad for us we missed our gambit and the attack went in just too late. We took our chances and just have to live with the consequences. I'm ok with that, and I think the rest of us should be, too.

Recommend a restart on the Frame 3 thoughts thread, better said as "back to our regular programming..."
Cheers.

Let's get the ball rolling on Frame 3.

After Frame 2 and being robbed of a victory of the CV, I think a little payback is need. Because of the BS call, I don't think I am going to waste our time with a Kami run.

I am thinking of calling an all out attack on the CVs with as much coverage as we can mustard up. I am thinking about sending in the fighters first clearing the way of the bombers to come in and sink ALL the CVs this time. Once the air has been cleared, I will release the fighters to search and destroy attackers.

What do you all think?

I like it. I would like it a lot more if we were able to fly ALL Ki84's but N1K1's will serve quite well if we stay below 25K.

I really like the potential to end the frame early and go to bed.

I am assuming that we can fly the N1K1 even if we lost one during Frame 1 since the rules state only that we can't fly it the next frame if we lose one.

No, he died in 1953 and I was born in 1952.

Yep, what happened Frame 1 doesn't count for Frame 3, so take the N1K1

If it was worded as "last weapon release against a surface target at T+ 160" I would be in total agreement. However, " last surface attack" is easily interpreted as the beginning of an attack that may then be continued to its natural conclusion. The Kamikaze's were in visual contact with the enemy fleet and the sweeping fighters had engaged the CV cap well before T+ 160, marking the initiation of the "last surface attack" before the deadline.

I will start a new thread but I want to end this with this remark. T+160 is the end of the frame. According to Jabo, I dropped my torp at T+161. That is a + or - 1 time depending on your clock.
