I forgot to mention something.

The USN operating area in the east is almost entirely covered by our radar at Izu and Miyake. I would expect strikes on those radars from the US carriers early in the frame. A careful radar watch may pinpoint the US carriers at frame start. If we dont spot their takeoff on radar we can work out their range from target at 5 miles per minute if hit by Corsairs or 3 miles per minute if hit by TBF's

Example:

If Corsairs hit Izu radar at T+6 this puts the US carriers on a 30 mile ring from Izu. Any strike we send looking for CV's need only guesstimate that ring's location in the depicted CV ops area and fly its approximate location to locate the US CV's

Already with you on that, we'll get an idea and use that info later.

Hawk I would much rather have everyone in fighters as we can put up ~45 to their ~37 with the Knights primarily after the buffs. We will go after the CVs later with a massed fighter attack (Ki-84 carries 2x 250kgs) and Kamis. If you have folks that absolutely cannot fly fighters they can launch and hang out near the 10,7x until they commit to the bomb run. You can send a scout to "keep tabs" on the CV to sell an early attack, but I don't want to lose too many forces early when they expect us to attack.

Orders out soon.

FWIW, 4th FG was practicing Carrier ops and bombing with F4U's. They got all wound up when we engaged them in the ACE arena, and requested that we leave them alone so they could practice their mission for S3. 352nd flying ponies.

So.. guess we should expect the typical 352nd forward sweep, 23rd with bombers, and 4th FG trying to hit us in the east when they think we are heavily engaged with bomber group?

I saw them practicing last week, too. Its what they do, and I respect that. They've been doing it for more than a decade, too. I recall in my early days being asked not to engage their practice.

They "practiced" by flying straight to the field we were operating from, we killed them then they started whining.

Plenty of empty arena to practice in without going near the 6 other folks in the arena looking for a fight.

I don't get how people think sometimes.

I think it's pretty much the opposite. There is seldom any doubt what I am thinking.
