The B-29's are either going to Tokyo or Nagoya. Our rendezvous at F145 is astride the direct route from Iwo Jima to Tokyo and less than 40 miles from the direct line Iwo to Nagoya. That about 7 minutes flight time at 35,000 feet.

Zinhawk's plan is sound and inherently flexible. We can orbit west of 145 and be 4 minutes from either strike route.

If they go up the eastern map edge we will see it on radar early enough to respond. If they come from the Southwest they will be on radar the entire time.

Maybe by frame five they can kill enough radars to sneak in but not in frame two.

It was as good plan tonight. Had fun and think we all did well until we started trying to cap the CV group. Even then it was a heck of a fight down on the deck against F4U's and P-51's. A fun frame full of boredom, and unbelievably intense fighting.

So, the CV was hit just a couple of minute past final strike time. Stuff happens. Rules are rules and if the shoe were on the other foot, we wouldn't want the other side credited for a CV kill if they were beyond the cut off time.

Great planning Zinhawk, great job hawk & co. On to Frame 3 :)

Here here...good post Dazed.

Sucks on the CV...especially since we fought hard to try to get them in.

But was a fun S3.....

Well flown by all. Thank you zinhawk for stepping and getting the plan together.

Think we need to look at the feasibility of trying to get all squad CO's on TS so they can pass info easier. Realizing it needs to be heat of battle info where you can't just type it...yes typing sucks, but if I have two guys yapping at once on the same channel its hard enough...having another channel with people yapping (with no idea that stuff is going on on the other channel) then it just makes it worse.

Wild Bill told me they would be looking at going to a typefrag TS server (I use one now....and have had ZERO downtime with it)...if they do that, I'd be willing to give it a try.

Personally, I think if Jabo is going to enforce the T+160 surface attack time down to the second of weapons release then he needs to erase all the action directly attributable to the late launch.

Everyone was operating in good faith with no attempt to "game" the rules and a lot of people died on both sides supporting and defending the Kamikaze attack on the CV.

My understanding was that the T+160 rule was sort of like the RTB if not engaged rule, open to some leeway on either side.

Everything the Allies were doing after T+130 was to defend the CV and everything the Japs were doing after T+130 was to support the Kamikaze attack.

So if the CV attack doesn't count then the 30 minutes prior should just be erased from the points total. Personally, I don't care if individual kills are still counted for lifetime totals or not but the Frame scoring should not reflect all the action for a Kamikaze attack that Jabo appeared to referee as valid until the moment of destruction when he declared it outside the rules.

I am not happy at all with the results. I know you fighter dudes had a great time, but getting there while you guys busted your butts to get us there and we get the job done and not get credit because it was T+161 is CRAP!
