Salute!

I was hoping to get the Frame 4 duty, but whatthehell.

Bad news is Gums cannot command our forces this last frame, but can still help until early Friday.

Some personal stuff explains, but this ain't an excuse, just an explanation.

I have to drive a few hundred miles to pick up my brother from an assisted-living home and get back. About the same time we get back, one of my sons gets here with two beautiful grandkids. Gotta love it.

I am not even sure if I can fly Sunday night, but might have an outside chance.

I think DR would be a good choice, or even the Stalkers, as the boat hunting seemed both fun and fruitful. The lites can have the honor of defending F190 at all costs, even if it means flying around for half an hour with no action. They can also head into harm's way near the boats in case the Huns catch on to our tactics and try to shoot us down.

My other thot as a CO was to have a mass gaggle at F21, but without F25 it would be tuff on the lites.

I really respect the Knights for their attacks on our restricted bases for the buffs. I would have done the same, and I'll give kudos to Hawk when this debacle is over. We buff outfits are pretty tight. I'll also vent/rave about the restrictions we had on who can fly from where and so forth - see CO forum unless this isue goes viral.

Please dont forget the IL2. It is a very capable single-engine a/c that can take down lots of ships and tanks and tactical targets. You can surprise the enemy by flying from several fields to hit very wide-spread targets.

Okay, I will take the frame and sit in the big chair.

As Jabo said, the IL2 can take down lots of stuff, and as a single engine bomber it has no restrictions on targets.

Orders will be out by 5 Saturday or sooner, DR, practice on the IL2. My initial notion is to have 4 steps of IL2's leave 190 and smack the port 73. 2 Steps of fighters from 200 should reach the port before the 2 steps from 184 can make it, so the IL2's should have cover.

Isnt F190 the only base we have that can base twin engine planes?

Perhaps we need to consider our inability to be able to go toe to toe with their lites and our lites. Everyone grab il's and p 39's with bombs go noe and scatter over whole map killing everything of value and avoiding enema lites at all costs.
Yes, im discouraged, my apologies.

Here's an Idea:

operation RIGHTEOUS VENGANCE

Goal: seek out and destroy the Ju88 devils

all squads have missions assigned but when it is determined where the JU88s are we send everyone to attack them and / or their base of operation. catch them running home and shoot them down or trap them at their base....
no points of course and will probably end up with all of us getting caught low and shot down.

Salute!

While packing, I had a minute or two.

- The 73 port is a very tough nut. 40mm down low and two 88's within a mile( one at north end and one a mile south). Not a good idea.

- There are tanks north of the post/F16 complex worth looking at.

- Cool's idea is worth a shot for one of our lite outfits. Also, seems that the lite planes available have better range than the Il2, so some of them in P-39 or whatever could do some tank/boat hunting. Will suggest possible bases for the Knights and get back.

EDIT: - Knights used F181 until we closed it. Last frame they used F21 ( which was so important for us to close in Frame 1, but that's old bidness) EDIT

- If the Stalkers wanna go after more boats, that's an idea. Also, the Mossie can run down a JU-88, if they see them, and the cannons do real good.

for now,

Well you did outscore them last frame so something must have gone right. Staying away from their big wings as long as possible was a smart move. Hitting the shipping went very well. The NS could do the same thing from 190 in Pe2s and count on only one sortie for the night if they close 190. IL2s have pretty good range as well but are just very slow. They could strafe down lots of ships off of Sevastopol if the enemy doesnt at least try to defend that far target.
