he 4th was based at F200 and F235 for the night and wee tasked with CAP over the SE shore between F42 and F105. After join up, we headed to our area and set up Cap at 10000-12000 ft.We were on our third orbit when calls of bandits in the area were broadcast. Jedijc spotted a few dots down low over the bay and went to investigate, but they were our strike group. All was pretty quiet for the first 30-40 minutes. Command called us to check out the F190 area for returning strike group, so we set up CAP over 190 and it seemed quiet. THe strikers were landing so I had the 4th RTB for fuel. One of our group got caught near 190 by Me109 scouts and was dispached. While being refueled, we were told to launch asap to the NW and intercept a group of enemy a/c near the F104 area. As we approached, it became clear we had a swarm down low so we jumped in and had a huge furball on the deck with a flock of Me109s from JG 352. When the dust cleared, we had lost 12 of our initial 16 and downed a few 109s. The remaining 4thmen joined up with light who arrived on the scene late and went scouting north near our tanks west of 190 area. As stonie and jedijc wereflying NOE looking for light, stonie clipped a wing on a shallow rise and crashed. Not a good night for us.
<S> 4th. A tough night all around. The axis was quite adept at keeping all our FGs occupied and harrassed. You being based closest to the front, took the brunt of it. Thank you for your efforts and playing a big part keeping 190 open.
