Operation Steel Wall

Sitting in the big seat isn’t easy, but with this team it’s always a pleasure to serve them.

I decided to get bold on this one and it was a success because everyone worked together as a team.

I wanted the 4th and the 352nd to set up a line that would discourage the Allies from marching over to our side and close fields. I tasked the Nightstalkers to hit ships along the shipping lanes and LF6 as escorts for the Knights who were to attack deep in the Allies territory hitting F158 and F144.

A special thank you goes to Bomber for being my CGI last night. I couldn’t have flown if not for his volunteering for this job and a great job he did.

At T+0 everyone lifted and headed toward to assigned areas. The Knights went south and soon was met with their Knight Fighters and LF6 high overhead. What a relief it was seeing them up there.

With Robert at the helm he directed the 4th and the 352nd to the areas he saw contacts. I really didn’t expect to see any cons near F158 because we were so deep but I was wrong. As we turned to F158 the report of cons were overhead. I split the group up and some went to F144 and the rest to F158.

With great pleasure, not one bomber was lost due to our fantastic escorts. If took some time, but F158 closed. The group at F144, wasn’t able to close it so the group from F158 went over there and finished it off.

With some bombs left, I sent Gundoc to F145 to work on it. I could see in the buffer, the 4th and the 352nd were having a good time downing aircraft. Gundoc wasn’t able to close F145 and I asked the Nightstalkers if they could finish it. They were deep in the south but manage to get back to their field, re arm and head toward F145. Soon F145 was closed! Way to go guys.

I then called for an attack on F86 and sent want bombers were already RTB to hit it. Robert called out cons over F117 and I sent ALL fighters to the area to engage the enemy. Once again the buffer was being filled with 25s going down. Even though they closed F117, it would only be minor victory for them.

The best was yet to come. All remaining bombers along with others started hitting F86 and soon it was closed. We even made a valiant attempt to close F87, but we are not sure if we will get credit for it.

It closed at the same time as the RTB was called and not sure Jabo will give us credit for it. Still at the end 4 bases were closed, 3 of them being airfields. Many bombers were downed as well as fighters.

All in all it was a GREAT night again for the Axis and due to the awesome teamwork from everyone.

Thanks again everyone for the support and for giving it your all! It was an exciting, tense night for us but you all pulled it off.

Salute!

Once again sir, Bombr- who is CO of the 4th FG was the one providing GCI, not me :-). Ty for a well planned frame and most certainly another win.
