With all the FM changes, can we get the next series plane sets so we can practice?

Before we launch another S3, the FM's need to be fixed. The JU88 sucks and is impossible to take off. I am not sure about the others. Why this one was messed with is mind boggling.

Main Arena: Ju-88 takeoff from SAF field with 100% fuel and 4x250 lb bombs.
* Just pull back on the joystick to keep the tailwheel in contact until you reach sufficient airspeed.
* Pre-trimming the rudder also helps.

It's very hard to take-off from a SAF (but not LAF/MAF) at the heaviest bombload and 100% fuel. In real life it was probably impossible. This loadout gives a weight of 31 800 lb, and max overload weight allowed, according to the Pilot Operations Handbook, was 30 200 lb. Maybe using 75% torque levels for all bombers would be a good trade-off for historical accuracy vs playability, taking newly joined customers learning curve into regard?

This is from the Pilot Operations Handbook of the ju-88 (Please read with a german accent)
"The veering out of course has to be corrected by asymmetric throttling.

The airplane is pushed smoothly and slowly to level attitude and then held there until air speed indicator is showing the slowest necessary speed for the current loading.

Only after that it is slowly pulled off the ground. The moment of list-off is noted.

The rolling distance needed for the take-off, when the effect of cross- wind is not taken into consideration, is for different take-off weights:
Distance on ground Overall distance over 20 m obstacle
12.5 ton 570 1280
13.0 ton airplane 650 1350
13.75 ton oberloaded 750 1420 - (30 203 lb, 2460 ft, 4658 ft)

Take-off during day with overloaded airplane is only allowed from concrete surfaced airfield, up to 13,75 tones from a prepared airfield or hard, even surfaces grass airfield."

Cheers!

No Ju88s in the Greece campaign so start working over the He 111 and Do17. Robert has it pretty much right.

Discovered that the Hurricaine I in the MA has recently gained a MULTIBST engine.

But this erroneously includes a +9lb Bst stage that this plane did not have.

Hurri I used exact same Merlin III engine as the Spitfire mk I
+6/25lbs boost
+12 boost

Unknown if the flightmodels in the S3 resemble the MA at all.

For information purposes.

Salute!

@ Robert, et al.

Actually, reducing the torque effects: roll moments and the basic p-factor should be essential to keep our sim planes flyable by less than Chuck Yeager clones.

We do not feel motion and attitude sitting at our computer. All we have are visual cues, and the stupid canopy bows are still too thick after 15 years of us complaining ( we humans have two eyes that make the apparent thickness less than what WB uses by taking a picture with a one-eyed camera at a poor eye location to begin with).

I also do not unnerstan keeping the tail wheel down if my horizontal tail and elevator have enough authority to get the tail up and reduce drag for the takeoff roll. Guess those torque effects are strong for the rudder, huh? And I fully unnerstan the multi-engine effects that Dawg and Dobs have mentioned over on the Allied forum when we whines. I simply feel we need to reduce the effects to satisfy most of our players.

The biggie for now is to get the arena up for practice using the exact same FM's we will fly with. I swear that the FM was different for last frame only three hours after I had practiced and perfected takeoff procedure/technique. I wonder if it had to do with turning off the "easy" mode or something like that.

Not a whine...issue actually is with propwash too low so no/low rudder authority when you first start rolling.

Being worked on, and hopefully be out prior to the S3s.

TNX, Dobs.

OTOH, increasing propwash might cause more of the torque and p-factor effects. So we have to be careful.
