its strange it happens with the Freighter and not the DDs. It is possible to strafe these down in the S3s only but as can be seen it is hazardous. Stand off weapons like bombs and torps are probably safer.

I was going to ask if it is possible to strafe a DD down. I blasted one with 25% of my cannon, all good hits at the base of the main tower, and nothing. It was busy shooting down someone else so I had a small opening. I also didn't see it come up at the end of the frame as a kill when the AI was unloaded.

The escorting DDs should be able to put up a heavy if inaccurate barrage over a convoy.

LMAO Jabo! The DD have NEVER been known to be inaccurate. even at the lowest settings they are deadly. I believe the one DD took out 2 folks last night that were straffing freighters, an elevator hit and a wing knocked off.

Its net lag.

What you see is NOT what you get.

Muskie, if you look at the videos dob's posted you will see the ships move a full boat length from its actual path both to port and starboard.
Now imagine that you yourself are doing the same, moving 300 yards fore and aft as you travel towards, dive on etc. a ship. The result is that the server counts that as contact and therefore a crash.
So, there may be nothing wrong with the ships or the collision bubble.
It may be lag and lag only.
I understand your frustration.
Please get your gun cam set up. Reviewing it may help you and everyone else to figure this out.

Again I stress the need for standoff weapons like bombs, rockets or torpedos. I will put a couple boats and transports into the mix for next frame with the caveat that generally bombs and torps are ineffective against them and you will have to strafe them down. I will be interesting to see if we have the same issues with these types as the Freighters.

boats and transports are easily knocked out by torps and bombs. Sleepy and I got them to work a while back...

I'll ping him to see if he still has the data for that.

Jabo,
It was suggested to just turn collisions off. Is that not a possibility?

If it is a possibility Jabo probably should not reveal if or when they will be on or off to discourage those who may be tempted to press aerial attacks far too close.

Collisions should not be turned off as far as I'm concerned.
Practice makes perfect.

All the practice in the world cannot overcome Net Lag.
