I don't see any orders or field for Knight fighters to roll from.
Did you want us to roll with bombers at 105?
Not sure of fuel, a more forward base such as 80, 81, or 82 may be better and we can RV with our bombers.
We're open for either P38 or Spit.
Please advise.

Thanks,

Swanee

There is room at F80 for for more to base there but P38 with drop tanks can escort all the way from 105 with no fuel problems. Or you could lift at 80 at about T+ 15 and wait there.

Thanks Beaver....

Did any1 post comp performance data on the allied rides? Esp the new 38G? Assuming it is as fast or faster than the F.

I didn't do any other comparisons as the Strike Pilots were afraid that they could be run down by the Japanese. :o As I had thought, after the strike they can hit the deck and outrun any opposition :)

Yes mossies do not get wingpeople. The DH IVs would if they were in this scenario. Beaufighters got their name Whistling Death from the Japanese maybe?

Will update the arena to 3 wingman. Had to take a count of the number of strike and bomber pilots to allocate the 48 wingman slots. We are good for this event but in later events it may go down to 2.

Just a note for strikes. Because flak is fairly sparse in this terrain you will see them be more accurate so dont linger in the target area after bombs out.

Beaver,

Are the Knights and friends going to have any escorts? We are going level at 20k and run to the target. We will have after loading with 100% fuel only 10 mins left after dropping so this is a one sortie trip.

Jabo, please be careful. During KT you cranked the ack up and (2) 40mm guns killed the entire NS at 62 on our first pass in. There may not be a lot of 88's at the fields but the MG's, 20mm and 40mm are by far the most deadly guns in this game.

Are you saying the B24J from 105 to target at Finschafen (F62) with an RTB to Horand (F80) requires more than 100% fuel ?

50% is plenty for that trip.

KoN fighters will roll with the bombers at 105 - P38s / Drop Tanks
Strictly Escort. May have 3-5 of us.

When did the plane set change? The one I saw had us taking 25J's not 24J's. I'll re run it again... :(

You actually can fly either the B25J or B24J as your first line aircraft.

I would suggest the B24J for this mission :)

50% fuel works with plenty to spare.

475FG will do our best to get to the RV point on time and then sweep forward to the target. Fuel will be tight for 475FG and 352FG as we are carrying bombs instead of drops for the first half of our sortie so we will be in fuel conservation mode when possible.

I think we will have plenty if the timing is close to plan. We only need 70 gallons to get to Horand from Finschafen at 100% throttle. Considerably less if we can throttle back once off enemy radar.
